in all the BARBIE discourse, i don’t see anyone talking about the female audience. BARBIE is opening to $155+ million!! we are a vastly underserved audience. we’re 51% of the population. the majority male executives think we don’t matter, don’t spend, don’t need to be marketed to
Literally the (first) part that made me cry and I can’t even tell you why. It was just really beautiful.
#Barbie director Greta Gerwig held her ground against studio executives and refused to cut a scene where Barbie meets an elderly woman, as they believed it was unimportant:
“To me, this is the heart of the movie. If I cut that scene, I don’t know why I’m making this movie. If I don’t have that scene, I don’t know what it is or what I’ve done.”
My dad, who is not an industry person at all, said he was proud we had the BALLS to strike. That he wished truck drivers in the US would do it, because they are also being squeezed.
This isn’t just a Hollywood issue— People are watching and this strike matters.
The amount of respect I have for these showrunners! This is what solidarity looks like!

Every relationship has one person who is obsessed with checking the mail and the other who would literally rather have their corpse dragged through the freeway and run by a semi than check the mailbox.

Grammy voter didn't vote for Beyonce because she already won too much. Oscar voter didn't see Woman King but knows Viola Davis didn't deserve it. The "lady director" "should sit down and relax"
The goal post always moves when it comes to Black women and the disrespect is loud!
I can tell how much writers’ block I had on any given day by the amount of tiktoks I sent my husband in that time period. Saturday: 1. Monday: 42.

Went to a WGA union meeting last night and the rumors are true… snacks were indeed provided and delicious.
I stopped using straws, because they’re bad for the environment. But really it’s because they cause lip wrinkles and it’s through vanity that I’ll unite America.

Finished my vomit draft for a comedy sample! I know it needs punch up and story fixes and it’s far from perfect — but it’s personal and I love these characters and I’m proud! Someone staff me.
