📢update📢 gm Shades - wanted to give you all an update from us since it's been quiet lately. the good news: we're almost completely finished with the artwork including the Grid, projectiles, objectives, characters, animations, and UI. the bad news: our original game dev has left. he promised to at least complete an MVP of the game but instead ghosted us for the last weeks of his contract, so we're working to onboard a replacement for him and pick up where he left off. this replacement is a very capable dev, but does not have any game dev experience, so he's working to learn Godot right now and it's taking a bit longer than expected. ongoing: we are still looking for an experienced developer who wants to oversee the grand vision of Shades of Syn (the game) and Show'em (the community-building platform for web3 gaming) and become a cofounder with us. so if you're out there, please reach out! we've also pursued funding opportunities from 50+ sources but most of them want to see a playable alpha version, so we're stuck waiting till our new guy can finalize that before trying to get more funding. final words: we appreciate all of your patience and hope that you haven't forgotten about us. we are still working to realize our dream of Shades of Syn as we imagined it to be. we think that Show'em can completely revolutionize the way gaming communities are built and we will not stop looking for the person who can help us make this happen.💪 our DMs are always open.

each sector of our hexagon grid has a unique vibe, objective, and terrain - just look at the difference between sectors 1 & 2! we could've made our lives a lot easier and done a square shaped top-down map. we could've just used a tileset. sheesh, we could've just made it so that you control 1 character like every other game instead of having explosive team fights. #shadesofsyn is special, and we're gearing up for Phase 1 soon. lots of moving parts right now, but we'll keep everyone posted when we have news😈

time for #screenshotsaturday! this week we're polishing up the AI movement of our allies and as you can see, Steelthorn deftly circumnavigates that tower in the top left💥 what makes #ShadesofSyn different is that instead of controlling just one character, you'll control up to 3 Shades (start a match with just 1, then your first ally spawns mid game, then your second ally spawns late game). so we have to make sure that your allies are smart and know: -how to follow your main (& when to retreat) -which enemies to attack -how to navigate around objects, etc. rising to the level of Syndicate (the👑top) means choosing the best team (based on Shades' individual power, ultras, speed, etc), utilizing the objectives which will press your team's advantage the most, and keeping track of all these elements in battle when you face off against your opponent. this is RTS x MOBA. #web3gaming #mobilegame
