Coverage of Women's sports seems to be pushed to one side when it comes to the media. How are girls meant to become inspired to take up sport when it's almost like hidden away. #YouCantBeWhatYouCantSee
Irish Times sports section does it again. Manchester City gets front page. Hyde and Cremen winning GOLD for Ireland at Worlds gets (a teeny-weeny section on) page two. Thanks lads. #womeninsport

Men need to wrap their minds around the fact that women are PEOPLE who do things for OURSELVES, same as men do. We don’t pursue education, jobs, or hobbies for men, wear our clothes, makeup, or shoes for men, walk, talk, drive, eat, read, sleep, or shop to impress or attract men.
"why do women wear high heels if not for the male gaze" idk man some of us enjoy clip clopping around like a beautiful horse once in a while

At least 25 women & girls are killed every day in armed conflict. They now account for twice the share of civilian deaths they did in 2021. Women are paying the price of war — but remain largely excluded from building peace. More in latest UN report: unwomen.org/en/news-stories/…

We need women leading #peace now more than ever, but they're being shut out. Still, women continue to build foundations of peace every day. 🔗 Remarks by @unwomenchief at the @UN Security Council Open Debate on #WomenPeaceSecurity: unwomen.org/en/news-stories/…

Change begins when silence is broken. In #Liberia, the Born Perfect Bus Tour is creating space for honest conversations about female genital mutilation (FGM), and people are listening. 🔗 See what change by, for and with community looks like: unwomen.org/en/news-stories/… #EndFGM

Our London fashion show in October three years ago focused as always on promoting period dignity. We think it’s time to bring all of our beautiful people together again. Every girl deserves dignity, period. £5 buys an annual supply of pads for one girl. #PeriodDignity

It's very sad. All politicians should be able to go about their daily business without being subjected to abuse, harassment or violence. All they're doing is trying to serve their communities to the best of their abilities.

Violence against women and girls is not just a women’s issue. It is a human rights issue. Behind every act of violence lies a deeper problem of inequality, harmful power dynamics and systems that continue to silence women and girls. Ending VAWG requires all of us. #EndVAWG #GenderEquality

I called my internet provider to cancel my $75 month subscription because I was moving to a cheaper service. The woman on the phone said, “I’m sorry to hear that. Is there anything we can do to keep you?” I said, “Yes. Stop charging me $75.” She laughed n said, “I understand. What if I give you a $10 discount?” I said, “I’d still be paying more than the other company.” She said, “What if we upgrade your speed for free?” I said, “I barely use the speed I have now.” She said, “What if I give you three months at half price?” I said, “I’m still leaving.” There was a long pause. Then she said, “Unfortunately, cancellations have to be completed through our website.” So I opened the website, It asked why I was leaving. I selected “Too expensive.” It offered me a discount. I declined. It offered me a free upgrade. I declined. Then it told me I had to call customer service to.......

An assessment by police into violence against women and girls identifies a pattern of repeated violence by 15 to 19 year olds driven by online influences. Helen Millichap from the Met says some young people won’t realise their ‘toxic relationships’ are a form of domestic abuse.
