Important people know the backstory of this ad. @patrickgaspard gave me the idea to take her inexcusable gaffe and do something edgy with it that could get attention. My content creator, @RyanSayles_ directed and edited it. He should be considered the breakout-star of this cycle. He’s going to be a giant in the media consultant game. He did GAME CHANGING work with SO little.
She done lost her damn mind.

Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Infrastructure says Government has arrears of US$188M to road contractors. Transport Minister @MhonaFelix says Govt is looking to restructure debts. Overall, the construction industry says it is owed over US$1.5bn for infrastructure projects
🟥How much does the Government owe contractors? According to the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe (CIFOZ), the Govt owes contractors about US$1.5 billion. At its recent industry congress, CIFOZ said: “Delayed payments and unsettled invoices, which sometimes stretch for close to a year, are driving local contractors into bankruptcy.” Late payments are damaging in an industry that needs large amounts of capital upfront: “Non-payment creates severe cash-flow crises that trigger debt, legal battles with suppliers and an inability to maintain heavy equipment.” Many peer economies can access low-cost, long-term infrastructure funding from institutions such as the AfDB or World Bank. Zimbabwe is shut out from these loans because of arrears. Government has had to use the budget to fund major projects such as roads and dams. This has stalled projects and piled up contractor bills. Masimba, a major Govt contractor, has scaled back its public-sector work in recent years. In 2024, 46% of Masimba’s order book was private projects. This year, it has a US$320 million order book, now made up mostly of private-sector contracts.

Why don’t we use a forklift to move weights at the gym? Because the point isn’t to move the weights. It’s to get stronger. The same is true of learning. If the goal is simply to get a task done as quickly as possible, technology will often do it better. But at what cost? Excellent insights from @daisychristo.

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.
