🇿🇦 South Africa, do you know who your potential councilors are? Before political 'competitors' ask for YOUR vote, how much do you know about YOUR COUNCILLOR? Demand clear answers the public deserves to know: 🔎 Their track record: What experience and community work can they demonstrate? 📍 Their Priorities: Which three local problems do they prioritize AND why? 📋 Their plan: What actions will they take, by when, and what municipal resources or approvals would be needed? 🏛️ Their powers: What can they realistically influence as a councilor, and which promises depend on other authorities? ⚖️ Their interests: What business or financial interests could create conflicts, and how would they manage them? 📞 Their accountability: How will residents reach them, how often will they report back, and how will progress be measured? Ask parties about the people on their proportional representation lists, too. The same questions should be put to every candidate. Ask for written answers. Compare answers with evidence. For community solidarity, share verified information with your community. These conversations with Dan Corder is one example of communities coming together to #KnowYourCandidates as we consider WHO to vote for. Accountability starts before election day AND continues afterwards. #KnowYourCandidates #LocalGovernment #SouthAfrica #CivicParticipation
Jaw dropping headlines, dubious party options, madlanga reviews and above all sharp insight delivered with stomach-clenching hilarity. Join Dan Corder in conversation with Zapiro at the Homecoming centre in Cape Town on Saturday, 24 October. #dancorder #jacanamedia #zapiro

Strategy ➡️ Creativity @UNDAfrica
🎯 Candidate positioning shouldn't start with a slogan. Start with what voters care about and what the candidate can credibly own. Strategy first. Creativity follows. #Candidate #Positioning #Political #Communication

MUST READ🗞️🗳️ @ShikamoCampaign on Brazil and the missing voter.
33.4 million Brazilians skipped voting the first round. The gap between the two runoff candidates is far smaller. Those missing voters are not a guaranteed bloc for anyone, but they are not lost either. Ahead of the 25 October runoff, our view at Shikamo Political Advisory and Campaign Services is that counting the missing voter is where campaigning starts, not where it ends. Targeted campaigning means finding out where voters are missing, why they stayed away, and giving them a credible reason to take part.
