Kay’alani is a participant in Buckner’s NextStep program. NextStep is a supervised independent living program that provides women aging out of care the support they need to reach their educational and career goals. We accomplish this by providing safe housing, community, 1-1 coaching and more. 50 years ago, 69 children living at an orphanage in Cam Ranh, Vietnam, were brought to Dallas to avoid the war-torn chaos. When they arrived in Dallas, they were brought to Buckner's Children's Home, where they found a safe refuge as they adjusted to their new surroundings.
