This is what large hail at the wrong time looks like, near the tip you can see where the hail stone impacted the ear lower down you can see where the kernels did not pollinate due to damage to the silk at the point of impact, close to a 5% reduction in pollinated kernels
Waterhemp hiding, scout your wheat fields after harvest and do not let these go to seed, next year's weed control starts now!
Some DKB 25-17 seed being unloaded in Cottam, lots of great Xtendflex varieties available for #Plant23 @DEKALB_Canada
Some variation in the stem colour on waterhemp, leaf shape can also vary, this weed is becoming more widespread across sw Ontario
Didn't think we would be back in the field this soon but working on another #AGRISAgronomy soybean plot South of Windsor this evening with @LarryPajot @DEKALB_Canada @PRIDESeeds @NKSeedsCanada
The giant ragweed are really liking this warm weather, this weed will get big really fast, an earlier than normal herbicide application might be warranted #AgrisAgronomy #ontag
Some real nice bright clean DF 155's , they will make some great tofu! #agrisagronomy #ontag
Lots of winter annuals emerging in standing crops, plan for a post harvest burndown, lots of economical options available depending on targeted species #agrisagronomy
Starting to see more and more waterhemp in Essex County, this weed is going to continue to be a big problem in Ontario
Starting to see Manganese deficiency show up in soybeans again, August makes beans, now is not the time to ignore them, we have seen 5-10 bushel yield increase with mid to late August application of AGRIS Mn5
This common ragweed has a new set of clean leaves getting ready to receive a shot of glyphosate and mn5
Classic mn deficiency, can even pick it out with the 50km/h crop scout, make sure you are putting in AGRIS MN5 in the tank with your in crop glyphosate application
Weed control with glyphosate is greatly reduced when applying to soil covered weeds, please wait for some new growth before application!
Always amazes me that soybeans don't need a calendar they just know what to do at the right time. Speaking of time we are running out of it for some post herbicide products in soybeans, please pay attention to the label.
Congratulations Tristan on graduating high school and getting the Delta Waterfowl Kingsville Chapter Scholarship and kdhs staff memorial bursary #kdhs #backyardgraduation @DeltaWaterfowl
