‘I’m not racist but’ - from some of Reform’s (former) finest… “[Muslims] are parasites” “Drag [Muslims] out their homes, stick them on planes…” “They’re all ******* black. They’re like ******* animals.” How to thwart mosques? “We’ll bury [pork chops] in the ground…” On women: “if she was my daughter, it would still be a bath time on a Thursday…I’ll wash you properly this time” This video is full of sickening racists, sexists, islamophobes and perverts who are completely unfit for public office. It’s just more of the same from @reformparty_uk
Warning: Distressing and graphic language An undercover investigation by ITV Exposure into Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has found multiple elected councillors and party candidates expressing racist views and using offensive language. ITV has obtained secretly recorded footage showing Reform officials from across England and Wales using violent, racist and sexist language. Councillors Alan Feeney, Chris Whelan and Jamie Campbell did not reply to our request for comment. Councillors Feeney and Whelan have since resigned from Reform UK. In a statement shared with ITV News, Reform UK said: "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed." "Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations."

This happened to me with Brent Council, who escalated to a court date while I was still proving I’m a student. They had attempted to ignore my evidence because of the name and my trans identity. I don’t often congratulate Labour, but thank you Martin and @AngelaRayner
When I met Angela Rayner to campaign for change to overly aggressive council tax debt collection, with its unprecedented rapid escalation to balliffs, she nodded like most politicians do. I explained it was destructive for individuals, councils and the economy. She listened more then said she'd change it. I was sceptical. Yet a consultation was launched within weeks and delightfully the change announced within 18mths (its in place from next April) - bullet train pace for politics. I've a rule that if I campaign for a politician (of any party) to do something, and they do it, I say thank you. Its important to recognise it. So thank you so much Angela Rayner for listening and more importantly acting. The changes coming are a great start.

Welcome to Mark Pack’s vlog, sponsored by nobody. The Lib Dems have tabled an amendment to ban politicians being paid by social media firms for their posts, because the angrier the post, the bigger the payout. Politicians shouldn’t be paid to stir up anger. @markpack

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Last year, I stood up in Parliament and challenged the weaponisation of our St. George’s flag. The next day, a man spewing far-right abuse came to physically attack my office and has returned multiple times to intimidate, abuse and cause damage. He has since been convicted. The fight the Liberal Democrats 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 be focused on is our fight against this kind of hate and division that affects so many, fuelled by far-right populists across our country. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 is the fight that matters. Ed Davey has been leading us in that liberal fight, and I absolutely back him in doing so.

I wish Kemi actually had this same opinion that oppressed minorities should be respected not further suppressed. Unfortunately, Kemi doesn’t believe in liberty for all, only some.
🚨 WATCH: Kemi Badenoch accuses Reform UK of debating "whether my mixed race children are English" "I don't want to explain to my son when we're watching our brilliant English team play football that some people don't think that black players are English"

Everyone deserves to live in safety and with dignity. We urgently need new, workable and inclusive guidance that protects the rights of women and trans people alike. These rights are not in competition – both are essential to a fair society.

Wow. Today, the new measures that @libdems campaigned for to create a specific category of domestic abuse offender in the law have come into force. Thank you to all those survivors and charities (and govt) who fought for this change that will keep victims safer for the future.

Devastated but understanding that after a decade of stellar and noble public service Christine is standing down as the candidate in Edinburgh West. Whoever succeeds her will have big shoes to fill after all of her great deeds for many people including oppressed communities. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
I’ve taken the decision not to stand as Lib Dem candidate in Edinburgh West at the next GE. It has been a fantastic decade. I want to thank @EdwardJDavey for all his support over the years. I’m confident our next chapter will be even more successful and I’m sad I won’t be there.

As Southwark’s new Deputy Leader and Lib Dem Group Leader, I was clear at Council Assembly: trans and non-binary people belong here. We’ll do everything legally possible to keep our services safe, inclusive and welcoming 🏳️‍⚧️

The party's conference in Brighton was optimistic in part because it is confident it can hold on to the new seats it won in 2024, and a sensible and robust defence policy is one way it feels it can do this. The party won 72 seats at the last election; huge swathes of these were seats that had previously always voted Conservative while also voting Remain in 2016. The calculation is that these seats are full of voters who may never vote Labour, are not yet ready to trust the Tories again and are internationally-minded enough to understand how foreign policy impacts the domestic. ✍️ Patrick Gibbons Article | spectator.com/article/are-th…

Standing on Brighton beach always brings a smile to my face, it’s such a beautiful place, I’m always glad when we go back, as similarly my first conference was in Brighton as well.
Standing here on Brighton beach, I know this is the fight of our lives. Now more than ever, we must offer real hope and fix Britain's broken political system together.

I was so glad yesterday to see, as we have before and will again, Liberal Democrats standing up for trans rights to protect human kindness. The EHRC guidance is unworkable and I’m proud of our party for showing once again our fervent support for Liberty, Equality, & Community.

Maybe if Galloway wants to represent the people of Holborn and St Pancras he should stop saying Russia has the “moral right” to murder all the residents of the constituency with nuclear weapons. Just a thought really. 🤔
People of #HolbornAndStPancras will make history if they elect @georgegalloway. A politician with rare calibre and integrity.

On many issues I fervently disagree with Eleanora. But as a trans woman and as simply a human being, I can recognise that the Greens have made a blatantly discriminatory decision. It is unthinkable for the greens to do this action while trying to campaign for trans rights.
‼️Statement RE my suspension from the Greens. I was suspended for the 'crime' of being a trans woman who ran for a women's place. The "media interest" in my gender was cited as the sole reason for my suspension. ( 1 / 2 )

Eleanora should not be suspended and there is no reason to do so. Media attention or not a party should not remove members who are elected to positions on the basis of their identity. It has been quite evidently shown that Eleanora would not be suspended if she were cisgender.
