While border states like Manipur and Ladakh face certain challenges, no previous government has addressed them as effectively as the current central administration. Through ongoing negotiations via the High-Powered Committee, significant progress has been made in Ladakh, including raising Scheduled Tribe reservations from 45% to 84%, introducing one-third women's quotas in councils, recognizing Bhoti and Purgi as official languages, and initiating recruitment for 1,800 posts. Meanwhile, the issues challenging Manipur are highly complex, starting from illegal immigration to geopolitics of the region and various external influences. Regardless of the challenges, it takes time and commitment to resolve them. We should not forget that Sonam Wangchuk celebrated the Central government's decision on August 5, 2019, to grant Ladakh Union Territory (UT) status, fulfilling a 30-year movement led by local leaders since 1989. He had praised Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji to the skies, terming the announcement as a "democratic decentralization." Unfortunately, Sonam has erred gravely by inciting violence through provocative references to Arab Spring-style protests and Gen Z uprisings in Nepal. His statements sparked mob attacks on offices and security personnel, resulting in injuries, fires, and tragic casualties. Violence yields no positive outcomes and only sabotages progress. Sonam has unfortunately veered into anti-national territory and such actions must be handled firmly to safeguard national unity and continue the government's dedicated efforts for constitutional safeguards. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh @IndiaToday @IndiaTodayNE #SonamWangchuk

In the shadow of the recently renewed Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement, this video from "Pu Tintong Battalion | Hangsai Training Centre," posted on September 23, 2025, exposes Chin-Kuki militants brazenly drilling in open fields, raising alarms about the possibility of sparking further conflict in Manipur. Despite the SoO pact's extension mandating cadres confine to designated camps and halt recruitment, why are these groups still training for war? The agreement, aimed at curbing violence between Kuki-Zo and Meitei communities, prohibits new enlistments and armed activities, yet these footages show apparent violations, while non-SoO militants continue to evade arrests. Aren't all armed civilians supposed to be disarmed to prevent militias on both sides? This scot-free operation fuels recruitment, undermining fragile peace efforts amid the ongoing tensions in the region. These activities can escalate fear and hostilities, and it questions government enforcement of the SoO agreement, and further risks renewed clashes in the region. Urgent action is needed to enforce SoO rules, arrest violators, and strengthen reconciliation or Manipur's cycle of violence will persist. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh @Spearcorps @official_dgar @ramindesai @MumbaichaDon

On May 3, 2023, Meitei villages in Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Moreh were torched and razed to the ground by Kuki mobs led by armed militants. This video captures the heart-wrenching devastation, a testament to the unimaginable pain and injustice endured by the Meitei community. Nothing can justify the horrific terror attacks unleashed on innocent lives that day. Homes reduced to ashes, dreams shattered, and families torn apart; these scars run deep. No words can undo the horrors of May 3, but this voice of pain stands as a solemn reminder of the grave injustice inflicted upon the Meiteis. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh @ramindesai @MumbaichaDon #meitei #manipur #ManipurViolence #manipurcrisis #kuki

Since 2023, Pakistan-based X accounts have been fueling anti-Meitei narratives, exacerbating Manipur's ethnic divides to undermine the Manipur State Government. Following the recent Nambol ambush, they fabricated claims, labeling Meiteis as terrorists while amplifying Kuki-Zo separatism and accusations of BJP-orchestrated oppression. Echoed by local groups like ITLF and pro-Congress handles, this hybrid warfare internationalizes the conflict, inflating casualties and promoting "Christian persecutions," as this article by Naorem Mohen has aptly pointed out. Shri @NBirenSingh has been constantly raising concerns about these external intrusions, and the severity of this threat is evidenced by these orchestrated efforts that aim to destabilize India through ethnic vilification and anti-BJP rhetoric, potentially tied to ISI-like foreign intelligence. The Indian government must scrutinize foreign-linked handles, enforce IT Act transparency, and counter cross-border psy-ops. True resolution lies with the people of Manipur not with external propagandists and secessionist leaders. indiatodayne.in/opinion/stor… @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh @ramindesai @MumbaichaDon @IndiaTodayNE

The recent ambush targeting central forces at Nambol Sabal Leikai, a deplorable act that has deeply shaken the conscience of all peace-loving citizens, must be condemned in the strongest terms by all sections and communities. The rally being taken out at Keirenphabi in Bishnupur District reflects the voice of the common people who yearn for peace and normalcy in the region. The painful memory of the tragic killing of 13 security personnel by suspected militants in previous separate attacks serves as a somber reminder of the human cost of conflict in Manipur. In a democratic society, violence in any form is utterly unacceptable; no grievance can justify loss of life or the undermining of peace. The perpetrators responsible for attacking security forces must face appropriate legal action, regardless of the community they belong to, ensuring justice remains impartial and robust. Blanket blame on entire communities is also wrong and counterproductive as it only furthers divisions and mistrust. The way forward lies in resolute commitment to dialogue, justice, and humanity so that peace and dignity may prevail for all. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh @ramindesai @MumbaichaDon eastmojo.com/manipur/2025/09… #manipur #manipurcrisis #ManipurViolence

Election Commission's decision to launch a nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is a commendable move towards ensuring the integrity and transparency of our electoral process. This initiative is crucial for verifying voter lists and removing illegal foreign electors, thereby safeguarding the rights of genuine voters. In a time when the purity of elections is paramount, this step reinforces our commitment to fair and free elections. It addresses long-standing concerns about voter list discrepancies and upholds the constitutional mandate of the ECI. Shri @NBirenSingh has been tirelessly highlighting the threat of illegal immigration, demographic imbalance and the need to strengthen the electoral process in the country. Therefore, this development resonates deeply with the prevailing issues in Manipur. This move is not just about cleaning rolls but about restoring trust in our democratic institutions. Kudos to the ECI for this proactive and necessary action. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh

A historic and decisive step by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah ji, the Union Cabinet has cleared the formation of a High-Level Committee to study demographic changes caused by illegal immigration. For decades, the issue of unchecked illegal immigration has deeply affected our state’s demography, strained resources, and disturbed social harmony. Today’s decision marks a turning point, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to protecting the identity, culture, and rights of indigenous people. Under the leadership of Shri N. Biren Singh ji, Manipur has been consistently raising this grave concern at the highest levels of government. The people of Manipur stand grateful to our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi ji, Shri Amit Shah ji, and our own N. @NBirenSingh ji, whose commitment has brought national attention to this pressing issue. Together, we will protect our identity, preserve our heritage, and march forward towards a stronger, safer Bharat. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh @ramindesai @MumbaichaDon

In an era of escalating geopolitical tensions, strengthening India's national security and democracy is the need of the hour. Foreign hands orchestrate regime changes through insidious tactics like illegal immigration, demographic shifts, and engineered violent protests. In Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina's ouster amid student-led agitations has sparked allegations of external interference, despite US denials, highlighting orchestrated destabilization. Similarly, Hon'ble Union Home Minister, Shri @AmitShah directive to study post-1974 protests aims to counter vested interests and hidden networks fueling mass unrest, as seen in Nepal's Gen-Z movements. India faces identical threats, starting from farmer agitations to illegal infiltrations in Manipur and Assam, demanding robust SOPs to safeguard sovereignty and prevent foreign-orchestrated chaos that erodes democratic foundations. Vigilance is imperative to preserve our republic's integrity. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh #AmitShah

The eviction drives carried out by the Manipur State Government under Shri @NBirenSingh leadership have been weaponized by separatist Kuki leaders and various groups to fabricate a false narrative of ethnic targeting, solely to advance their agenda for a separate Kuki administration. This elaborate lie of government selectively victimized the Kuki community has been peddled to such an extent to ignite ethnic conflict and create divisions in the state. In reality, from October 2015 to April 2023, these eviction drives displaced 280 Meitei families (143 Meitei and 137 Meitei Pangal) compared to just 59 Kuki families, out of a total 413 affected households, including 38 Naga and 36 Nepali families as this news article has pointed out. Conducted in areas like Churachandpur, Noney, and Imphal Valley, the evictions targeted illegal forest encroachments under the Indian Forest Act, 1927, adhering strictly to constitutional laws and vested governmental powers, irrespective of ethnicity, as affirmed by officials and the Central government. To counter such divisive tactics, there should be intensified fact-finding missions and rigorous fact-checking initiatives by independent bodies, media, and authorities to dismantle the various false propagandas circulated by anti-national elements. These efforts would expose fabricated claims, promote transparency, and strengthen unity by verifying information before it fuels further unrest in the state. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh @IndiaTodayNE #manipur #meitei #ManipurViolence #manipurcrisis #kuki #kukimillitant indiatodayne.in/manipur/stor…

Under the War on Drugs mission launched by Shri N Biren Singh, Manipur achieved significant milestones in combating drug trafficking from 2017 to 2025. During this period, 2552 cases were registered, 3156 persons were arrested, and 113 individuals were detained under the PIT ND&PS Act, 1985. In a stark contrast, the previous Congress regime (2007–2016) registered only 667 cases, arrested 815 people, and detained zero individuals under the same act. The War on Drugs led to the destruction of 17,829.958 acres of illicit poppy cultivation, with an estimated value of Rs 12,48,09,70,600 (at 10 kg per acre and Rs 70,000 per kg). Additionally, drugs worth Rs 805,43,76,428 in the local market and Rs 8054,37,64,280 in the international market were seized, compared to a mere Rs 31,20,32,080 locally and Rs 312,03,20,800 internationally during the Congress regime. These figures highlight the unprecedented success of Shri N Biren Singh’s proactive measures. However, the severe impact of the War on Drugs provoked a fierce backlash from narco-terrorists, who ignited conflict in Manipur as a countermeasure. This orchestrated unrest has left Manipur struggling to restore normalcy. Meanwhile, anti-national elements continue to spread lies, deception, and propaganda to undermine these achievements and distort Shri N Biren Singh’s vision of a drug-free Manipur. Unity and collective action are crucial to identify and address these disruptive forces. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh @PTI_News @ANI @ramindesai @MumbaichaDon

The violence that erupted on May 3, 2023, in Manipur had its origins in Churachandpur and cannot be attributed solely to the Meitei community or to the leadership of the then Chief Minister, N. @NBirenSingh The roots of the crisis lay in administrative grievances, including the exclusion of five MLAs from Churachandpur in the Biren 2.0 cabinet, the withdrawal of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) with KNA/KNO and ZRA/UPF on March 10, 2023, and deepening power struggles within the Kuki-Zomi political and militant landscape. Internal rivalries within Churachandpur, particularly between Kuki and Zomi groups, and even within Paite factions divided between those aligned with the ZRA and others opposing it, have continued to destabilize the district. Calvin H., once ZRA’s Vice-President and now KNO’s External Affairs Secretary, symbolize these ongoing shifts in allegiance and influence. Even today, despite the Government of India extending the SoO with UPF and KNO on September 4, 2025, Churachandpur remains tense. The residences of Kuki-Zo leaders, including Calvin’s, were attacked and set ablaze by unidentified miscreants. These expose the fragile peace in the district, where unresolved rivalries and competing power centers continue to overshadow the path to reconciliation. The instability in Churachandpur is not a simple ethnic or political divide, it is the outcome of accumulated grievances, leadership tussles, and the failure to address local aspirations in a fair and inclusive manner. The district will remain a flashpoint threatening the stability of Manipur as a whole. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @NBirenSingh @ramindesai @MumbaichaDon @IndiaTodayNE

History was made yesterday in Churachandpur. In just 20 minutes, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji invoked the word “Manipur” 33 times, once every 36 seconds. This was no accident. It was a deliberate, powerful reaffirmation that Manipur is indivisible. At a time when separatist forces have tried to erase the name of our state, replacing “Churachandpur” with “Lamka,” erasing “Manipur” from billboards, and even vandalizing vehicles bearing the state’s name, the PM’s speech was nothing short of a verbal sledgehammer. Kuki MLAs like Paolienlal Haokip may fume and cry foul, but the truth is clear: 🔹 PM Modi did not bow to separatist vocabulary like “Lamka,” “Kukiland,” or “Zogam.” 🔹 He spoke only of Manipur, unbroken and shining. 🔹 His message was unity, integrity, and a shared destiny. This was more than a speech. It was a masterstroke, a reminder that words themselves can be weapons of unity. And in Churachandpur yesterday, every repetition of “Manipur” was a stake in the ground, reclaiming the soul of our state. Manipur is one. Manipur is indivisible. Manipur will shine. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @NBirenSingh @IndiaTodayNE indiatodayne.in/opinion/stor…

Kuki has a “Black Day” with almost every neighbour: •1993 – Kuki Black Day with the Nagas •1997 – Kuki Black Day with the Paites/Zomi •2003 – Kuki Black Day with the Dimasas •2004 – Kuki Black Day with the Karbis •2023 – Kuki Black Day with the Meeteis What does this indicate? A pattern too obvious to ignore. When conflict follows you in every direction, with every neighbour, across every decade, it is no longer just coincidence, it is reflection. Yet, despite this history, the narrative is always the same: they claim perpetual victimhood and absolute righteousness. The lesson is simple: if you have “Black Days” with everyone around you, perhaps the problem does not lie with everyone else. History has a way of revealing the truth, no matter how much one tries to paint themselves as the eternal victim.
#Opinion: Between 1993 and 1998, the #Nagas of #Kangpokpi lived under siege, their villages burned, their people tortured, their faith in peace betrayed. Yet, while the #Kukis proclaim “Black Day” every September 13, history tells a different story: the conflict was not born of victimhood but of calculated aggression, met only with desperate self-defense. One of the most significant highlights of Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi ji's visit to Manipur took place in Churachandpur district, when Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla made a firm statement concerning a core issue that has afflicted Manipur for decades and is deeply connected with the violence in the state. He addressed the issue of illegal immigration in Manipur, reminding the crowd in Churachandpur district that we cannot afford our lands to be encroached or illegally inhabited by people from beyond the borders. He further assured that both the State and the Central Government are committed to taking effective steps to address this challenge. What makes the announcement extremely significant is that it was made in the presence of Hon'ble PM Modi who was sitting right next to Hon'ble Governor Shri AK Bhalla on the podium. Understandably, the Hon'ble PM Modi could not personally make this announcement due to various reasons. However, the governor addressed this core issue in PM's place and this speaks volumes. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @NBirenSingh @PIB_India @ANI @ramindesai @MumbaichaDon #pmoindia #Narendra_Modi #PMINMANIPUR #kuki #meitei #manipur

In an alarming development, the fight against deforestation in Manipur has stalled under President's Rule, and the prevailing situation has exacerbated further environmental crises like the recent unexpected flood in Imphal East. Illegal poppy cultivation, spanning 45.68 sq km in 2023-24, drives rampant forest loss in Kangpokpi and other hill districts, fueled by the unrest and administrative paralysis. Meanwhile, Hill DFOs are facing intimidation, with incidents like the 2023 burning of 15 forest offices by Kuki mobs and SAHILCA’s bans on Forest Department operations crippling enforcement of laws. Under Shri @NBirenSingh leadership, Manipur made progressive strides, destroying 19,135 acres of poppy fields by 2024. Now, inaction risks further floods, landslides, and ecological collapse, threatening 3.5 million residents, as this article has pointed out. The state’s forests, vital for carbon sequestration and livelihoods, demand urgent protection. We must call for robust action, accountability, and restored governance to save Manipur’s natural environment before it is too late. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @NBirenSingh @IndiaTodayNE indiatodayne.in/opinion/stor…

Big step towards transparency & fairness in Manipur! The law to regulate the issuance of caste certificates for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Class (OBC) communities in Manipur, introduced by the then CM @NBirenSingh -led government in 2024, has now received the assent of the Hon’ble President of India. This law was framed to prevent fraudulent claims, ensure uniformity in the process of issuing caste certificates, and safeguard the rightful entitlements of SC and OBC communities. With clear procedures, competent authorities, and Scrutiny Committees empowered to verify doubtful certificates, even suo motu, this step puts fairness, accountability, and justice at the center of governance. The announcement by UPF spokesperson Aron Kipgen to pursue the demand for Separate Administration is a complete violation of the recent agreement signed between the Government of India and the SoO groups. This pact, intended to restore peace in Manipur, is now rendered invalid due to this outright reversal, leaving lasting peace impossible in the conflict-ridden state. This serious betrayal, after committing to preserve Manipur's territorial integrity, amounts to stabbing the Ministry of Home Affairs in the back and disrespecting the Honorable Union Home Minister, Shri @AmitShah , along with the Government of India. Such rejection threatens the region's stability, heightening possibility of escalating turmoil. Rather than adopting an appeasement policy toward armed militants who lack any commitment or honor in adhering to signed agreements, the Government of India should implement firm and decisive measures. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @HMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @NBirenSingh
