None of this would have been possible without the huge effort of the Polish and Argentine organising team:
@Veritodelaf
@AleCmera
@Azul__Silva
@DuarteLautaro
@matkstcki
@Nyktofob
@AniaChrzanowska
Ula W艂odkowska, and
Justyna Wi艣niewska who also took amazing photos.
This is especially significant in Argentina given the dire political situation that threatens to dismantle the national sientific system from which most of research and scientists are funded.
We're on track. Let's keep moving forward...
As for the longer-term, broader community, we visited a high school to talk with students that had never met a scientist before about what we were doing and why we care about basic science.
They played with tracking and asked so many questions!

Students today can still be heard saying they have nothing like this in their home countries, and that they have a need to apply what they learnt immediately... There is so much more to do disseminate these resources in the region and keep on sowing!
We set up @OpenEphys and @MiniscopeTeam systems to talk about neurobehavioral data acquisition, sync and closed-loop experiments. We also discussed open source practices and resources. And even did a @DeepLabCut -live superanimal demo in @bonsai_rx with... a 3D printed mouse!
They saw diverse examples in research talks from @jvoigts, @EstebanBeckwith, Fernando Locatelli, @amarinburgin, @InesSamengo, @angiesalles, @TrackingActions and @OferYizhar.
And also built a project using these tools to study fruit flies in the @giorgiogilestro lab Ethoscope.
Students learnt to use open source tools like @Prusa3D, @arduino, @bonsai_rx, @ThePSF, @DeepLabCut, #keypointMoSeq, @cebraAI, and important concepts to use these in the study of animal behavior.
#TBNSS 2023 came to a close last week and I am very grateful for having had the chance to participate as speaker and teaching assistant in this amazing school that took place in the beautiful setting of La Martineta, in the province of Buenos Aires.
All thanks to what we learnt while running the Buenos Aires Hub of the @Cajal_Training Advanced Neuroscience Course on Modern Approaches to Behavioral Analysis.
