Swahilli is not a colonial language, on the contrary it was a language of rebellion against the masters of that time, the indigenous people of East Africa mixed their local Bantu languages with the Arab slaves masterโ€™s Arabic, in order to speak more discreetly, similar thing as patois in Jamaica!
