My love for cinema and films worth discovering.
Huge fucking news. I know De Palma hasn't made anything significant in years, but he's still the man behind some incredibly iconic films. I can't help but be excited to have his style back on the big screen.
Brian De Palma reunites with longtime collaborator and composer Pino Donaggio for "Sweet Vengeance", his first film in eight years.
The film is reportedly expected to have its first cut ready by February 2027.
The iconic director-composer partnership dates back to Carrie (1976), with the two having collaborated on seven films since.

movies used to have shots like this for a three second establishing shot of a car pulling up to the curb
Yet another disappointment goes into Ridley Scott's filmography. Has he lost some of his identity along the way? He's been on a run of underwhelming films that's getting hard to ignore.
I just hope he has one more great film in him. Treasure Island has to be a hit.

Directed by Ridley Scott
⭐️ 4/10
Not much to say other than that it's a boring, repetitive, tedious & ultimately forgettable film. I'm also very surprised by just how disappointing the action sequences are.
Another miss from Ridley Scott
Just finished Ridley Scott's The Dog Stars...
What was really the point?
Is this the best the legendary director, the man behind some of the greatest science fiction films in cinema history, can do these days?

There will simply never be anything quite like what the Coen brothers have achieved. Their films are so distinctive, and the way they blend genres, tones and styles is something few filmmakers could ever pull off. I miss them so much...
Dang, this was pretty fun! Love the animation style. Nice, original story, funny too. Had a really good time!
🎬 Forgotten Island (2026)
A Dutch theater chain is going to hypnotize 30 people to make them forget their favorite films & experience them again for the first time.
After being hypnotized, they’ll watch 1 of 4 films: ‘Interstellar’, ‘The Matrix’, ‘La La Land’ or ‘Se7en’

Duel - Spielberg's first major feature as a director, and a masterclass in building suspense. Here's a fascinating miniature recreation of the film's unforgettable finale, which I find very cool.

With roughly four minutes of screen time, what did Safdie actually achieve to warrant a nomination? He barely left an impression. It was Agamemnon doing the work, not Safdie. And how would you put his performance ahead of Leguizamo's or Pattinson's?
It'd be a massive error if Universal did not campaign Benny Safdie for Supporting Actor in The Odyssey.
Yes, the official FYC screener will push Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and John Leguizamo. And yes, the internet’s main argument is that Safdie doesn't have enough screen time as Agamemnon.
But an Oscar nomination isn't about counting minutes on the screen. It's about narrative impact.
