#LARain be real safe tomorrow. Wind gusts to 40 MPH and rain. Trees did ok with higher wind speeds during Santa Ana but didn’t have added weight of moisture. Anyways, let’s hope the power stays on and everyone stays safe!
So Monday night and Tuesday until around 4 or 5 PM it will be raining a lot. Heads up that the newly wet yards and potential puddles in the street will also get blasted with 34 degree weather Wednesday AM. A little icy Wednesday AM. Be safe and aware out there!

🚨#BREAKING: A Tornado which started in Arkansas 4 hours ago appears to have traveled more than 235 miles (378 km) so far, making it the longest tornado ever recorded in us history
To me, ‘inside slider’ means Santa Ana conditions. So if High stays East, potential wind events; moves west, potential precip. We’ll keep an eye out for ‘Mid-December’.
In CA, this means dry-ish "inside slider"-type systems, which bring colder/windier conditions plus some mountain snow. Toward mid-Dec, if high can move far enough westward, these systems could have more overwater trajectory & bring more widespread precip. Fingers crossed! #CAwx

The Santa Ana winds were named as such in 1882, and have been known by indigenous peoples for 5,000 yrs.
However, it wasn't until 2019 that we had enough weather stations to sufficiently measure these wind events.
Look at the change in # of stations between 2018, 2020, & 2021!

Last night, many Langer Circuit residents received a shelter in place notification around 2 AM with it being lifted at 2:31 AM. Stay safe out there everyone.
