History will show that no one did more to promote left-wing ideas than Donald Trump, and no one did more to advance the Palestinian cause than Benjamin Netanyahu.

birds eye view of what’s happening and what’s about to happen in ai x hard science: ai is making really impressive progress in pure math (quasi riemann), theoretical cs (eth), theoretical physics (yang-mills), and foundational biochem (the alphafolds of the world). what it appears to be doing is a smart brute force search of the entire corpus that our civilization has built so far, and piecing together existing results. it’s clearing out a massive historic backlog. what i think is going to happen soon (2 yrs?) is we are going to finish all the low hanging fruit before hitting a wall. for 2 reasons: 1) we still don’t have einstein-level intelligence (aka the einstein test): einstein did not merely build on top of existing theorems and experimental results. he challenged the very axioms, eg the speed of light is constant and space-time is flexible. it’s unclear to me if the current trajectory of ai will get us there. maybe it still ends up being a search problem, but the set of possible axioms is literally infinite whereas our existing corpus is finite so this seems like a much harder search problem. 2) we are advancing theory much faster than empirical science as we are going to be bottlenecked by the speed and cost of experiments in the physical world. take bio for example, yes ai is going to help find targets and molecules more efficiently, but we are always going to have to run clinical trials where the binding constraints are lack of participants, regulations, and time itself for longitudinal analysis. in physics we already have a half century of beautiful but non-falsifiable theory and this will get worse. tl;dr: the wall is coming in ai x science. after that, progress is gated by two things no amount of compute fixes: einstein-level intelligence that questions the axioms themselves, and a physical world that runs at its own speed.

Extends the medium lifespan of male mice by 22.5% and 35% in female mice. It's a few years old, I posted about it in 2024. Showed IL-11 as a driver of aging, and tissue inflammation and fibrosis. It climbed up with age, and was linked to fat build up and muscle loss. It is now in Phase II human clinical trials for lung fibrosis.
These two mice are the exact same age, the human equivalent of 85. The mouse on the right was given an antibody blocking a single inflammatory protein (IL-11) starting in late middle age. Starting treatment at human-equivalent age 55: - Extended median lifespan by 25% in both males and females - Prevented grey hair, frailty, and muscle wasting - Cut late-life cancer deaths in half Three anti IL-11 antibodies (that might extend human lifespan) are already in human clinical trials right now.

Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10. Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years. Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

everyone's trying @typesafeai's Jev this week. i gave it a real job before every claude code prompt, jev decides: how hard claude thinks (low → xhigh) which model each subagent gets (haiku, sonnet, opus) which skill it needs a rename gets low. a race condition gets xhigh

Mark my words: In the next year, someone is going to buy a substantial fraction of a public company via Base tokenized stocks (which confer full voting and dividend rights), and 'DiamondPepe69' is going to dial into the shareholder meeting and absolute hilarity will ensue.

a polymath is not someone who knows a little about everything. it is someone who can learn anything the advantage is not knowledge. it is adaptability. polymath is about building the habits behind broad expertise: • learn fast • connect ideas • switch domains • build mental models • practice deliberately • stay curious every new field gives you another way to solve problems. • physics teaches constraints. • biology teaches adaptation. • computer science teaches abstraction. • economics teaches incentives. • design teaches human behavior. innovation rarely comes from knowing one field better than everyone else. it often comes from carrying ideas across fields that were never supposed to meet.

Honored to be #1 on the list! A bit more on what we're building at Dakota: • Embedded USD accounts • Best pricing (starting at 25 bps) • Self serve onboarding (go live in under 48 hours) • One API for SWIFT, ACH, Fedwire • Issue your own stablecoin and earn float on your AUM If you're building a fintech, neobank, or global payments product, we'd love to chat. Schedule a call with our team: dakota.xyz/talk-to-sales
dropping a list of providers i would use to build a neobank: @dakota_xyz - they issue virtual accounts for on/off ramps, ACH, and wires. you can also launch your own stablecoin and earn float on AUM. @blend_money - they offer a yield API that aggregates top protocols like Aave, Morpho, Pendle, etc. they abstract away the compliance and tech. pricing starts at $0.10 per user per month. @tryPortola - they’ve built the first ever credit as an API allowing any neobank to embed lending into its app. users can take out loans directly, while the neobank earns revenue from originated loans. @privy_io - this one’s a classic. privy has one of the best embedded wallet products on the market, and many of the top neobanks build on it. nothing more needs to be said. @moonpay - also an OG in the space. they offer a wide range of products for neobanks, so if you’re building one, it’s worth talking to their team. odds are they already have what you’re looking for. @raincards - the best card issuer in the game. they power the 95% of Visa crypto card spend. A class team. A class product. @relate_studio - not necessarily a tech vendor, but they create some of the best launch videos for neobanks. they’ve worked with Jupiter among many of other names in the space. @glider__ - i had a call with their CEO @BrianInCrypto, who walked me through their API. it lets you embed investment strategies and portfolios (like the Mag 7) directly into your app. think of it as an invest product rather than a yield product. i know most of these teams on a personal basis. If you need a warm intro to any of them, feel free to DM me. any other providers i missed?

⚪️ New App: Slate — a voice journal built on one rule: nothing leaves your phone. 100% Apple, top to bottom. Transcription by SpeechAnalyzer on device. Reflection by the 3 billion parameter Apple Intelligence model on the Neural Engine. Storage in SwiftData. Swift 6, SwiftUI, Liquid Glass. Zero third-party code in the binary. There's no account. No analytics. No tracking. No third party SDKs. No network calls. The app is private because there is nothing to collect. Turn on airplane mode and everything still works. There's no server. You speak your mind and slate writes it down. It notices patterns and reads your week back to you in a summary every Sunday. The local model is an observer. It never replies or advises or comforts. When it has nothing real to say, it says nothing.

I asked @Netflix's CPTO Elizabeth Stone what skills are trending up with the rise of AI. Her answer: systems thinking.
Elizabeth Stone's first visit to the podcast was my second most popular episode of all time (right behind @bchesky). Her second visit is already trending far beyond that. A lot has changed since I first spoke with Elizabeth 2.5 years ago. She was promoted to CPTO at @Netflix, taking on product and design orgs, on top of the engineering and data orgs she already led. Also, AI. In our in-depth conversation, we discuss: 🔸 Why all the top AI labs converged on Netflix’s culture 🔸 Why Netflix is hiring more "systems thinkers" — and fewer narrow specialists 🔸 How she protects quality when AI makes output nearly infinite ("If I had more time, I would've written a shorter letter") 🔸 The most impactful AI use cases internally 🔸 How Elizabeth builds "excellence as an operating system" Listen now 👇 youtu.be/t0GiTyz4syY

I love this funding announcement because it's a great template for all founders: 1. The fifth word is the company's name. Building the brand marketing from the start. 2. The first sentence tells me crisply what they do 3. The first sentence includes social proof by mentioning the round size and their strong lead investor 4. The second sentence is incentive for me to click through (free money!) 5. It's only two sentences long. Further details can be found in the video, which has high production values (notice how windy it is but there's no wind in the audio!) All around great work setting the standard @bykahlil!
Excited to announce that @naturalpay has raised a $30M Series A led by @ForerunnerVC to build payments infrastructure for AI agents. To celebrate, we gave our agent $100K to give to you. Just sign up and our agent will send you between $5 and $10,000 on natural.com ¹

As humans, we don't naturally have strong intuition around electromagnetism so @chris_m_bryant built a minigame into his blog post on Smith charts to help it click. Give it a try here: arenaphysica.com/publication…. What should we demystify next? Let us know in the comments below ⬇️
