While considering an appeal against acquittal, the Court should be slow to interfere where two views are possible, and the view in favour of the accused should be given primacy!

Das and Ranka give an undertaking to the SEM Court that they will not call for any protest at Jantar Mantar till it remains a denotified protest site. They also state that they will not commit any breach of peace and that they have "full faith in the judiciary and all its instruments including the learned SEM Court."

BREAKING: CJP'S SAURAV DAS & ASHUTOSH RANKA RELEASED BY SPECIAL EXECUTIVE MAGISTRATE
The hearing CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka is underway at the SEM Court. Delhi HC questioned their urgency, asking why they could not wait for the SEM Court’s order, which might be in their favour, instead of approaching the High Court.

We watched the full hearing. The GenZ age remark was a casual one and such exchange between bar and bench is quite normal in many cases. The judge questioned the counsel on merits of the matter and gave him time to seek instructions. Then he suddenly withdrew the plea. According to us, he should have answered the questions instead of withdrawing.

SUPREME COURT A “SUPREME FAILURE”. PUNISH ME FOR CONTEMPT FOR SAYING THIS. WILL ACCEPT IT AS BIGGEST AWARD IN MY POLITICAL CAREER: M A BABY (CPIM GEN SECY, EX-MP & LEAD SC PETITIONER IN PROTESTS CLAMPDOWN CASE) Lead SC petitioner in pleas against clampdown on protests, metro, railway, internet shutdown Ex MP and CPIM Gen Secy M A Baby tells a Malayalam channel: “What I want to say about Supreme Court is … the manner in which the court is currently discharging its responsibilities will force many to say that India’s Supreme Court of today is a SUPREME FAILURE. I want that what I said just now should be translated and sent to the Supreme Court judges …IF THE SUPREME COURT TAKES COGNIZANCE OF THIS STATEMENT OF MINE AND DECIDES TO PUNISH ME FOR CONTEMPT OF COURT, I WILL ACCEPT IT AS THE BIGGEST AWARD I GOT IN MY POLITICAL CAREER SO FAR”. Comments are surprising as when he filed petitions challenging several curbs and clampdown, lockdown in Delhi by authorities to thwart protests against CEC Gyanesh Kumar on SIR issue SC had granted slew of reliefs --When Mr. Baby filed the petition on October 9, 2026 CJI took on board the matter and passed orders on urgent mentioning by his lawyer Kapil Sibal despite the case not being in the day’s case list --Hearing his petition, CJI Bench said “absolute prohibition” on metro services and arrival of trains at New Delhi statition and Hazrat Nizamuddin amounted to “overreach” ---SC ordered lifting of internet shutdown during protests --SC asked police to ensure smooth traffic by reducing number of barricading --SC directed no inconvenience should be caused to general public in any manner --SC ordered preservation of all CCTV footage and digital evidence vis-à-vis complaints of excesses during protests ALSO TOMORROW SC HOLDING A SPECIAL HEARING DURING DUSSEHRA VACATION TO HEAR APPEAL FILED BY EX KERALA CM, CPIM STALWART & Mr BABY’S LEADER PINARAYI VIJAYAN IN CMRL-EXALOGIC PAYOFFS CASE !!

Almost always a question in Delhi Judiciary prelims - all started with Balco and eventually reached its conclusion in Soma while striking off Hardy.
How to ascertain juridical seat when arbitration agreement itself specifies two places? Read this #SupremeCourt judgment:

A handle I rely on the most for factual legal matters. What I like the most is that it sticks to what the order actually says not the rhetoric surrounding it. No sensationalism. No selective interpretation. Just the text, reasoning and substance of the order. In an age where commentary often overtakes the judgment itself, that objectivity is invaluable.
This is the #SupremeCourt RoP from yesterday's hearing in Election Commission SIR matter. The order does not record any submissions of the Counsel/view of the Court. It just issues notice to @ECISVEEP !

You are a Senior Advocate. We urge you to withdraw this post, which is nothing but a veiled threat and insinuation against the Supreme Court of India. Disagreements and criticisms are fine, but lawyers must not stoop to this level.
