I think the below is true, but Beckham or Cristiano Ronaldo and their investment partners will probably wait until Manchester United hit rock bottom (the Championship?) before moving in.

Today on @TheRestHistory, a new series on 1956.
We kick off with THE SUEZ CRISIS, which forced on Britain a sombre & depressing truth: you can have a suave manner, perfect tailoring & an immaculately clipped moustache, & still massively screw up

1. That's incredibly classless in front of his kids. Just awful.
2. @AstonVilla (the owners, Mr Emery, the players, the fans) all wanted @Youri0Tielemans to stay at #AVFC. A new deal was on the table, Manchester United triggered his release clause and offered him more money.
The structure at Manchester United is clearly all wrong. They need an old- fashioned Manager (the Gaffer) who is answerable to the owners and the fans and no one else. I could see them being quite successful with some like Didier Deschamps in charge if they let him be in charge.
Some thoughts on the mess at Manchester United, including the crisis of leadership throughout. The only blameless people are the fans. #MUFC

For any United fans still dreaming of Emery, it's time to wake up - your club's structure will never look like this.
Emery has built a footballing operation around himself at Villa, with a level of authority and control he'd be unlikely to surrender for you.

Manchester United remind me of successive UK governments:
▪️Years of decline after building an empire
▪️Repeatedly changing leaders only for the problems to get worse
▪️Asset stripping
▪️Selling home grown assets off to foreign investors
▪️Accumulating massive debt
▪️Failure to invest in infrastructures
I think the only thing Manchester United could do that would remotely interest Unai Emery in joining them would be to acquire every single member of the Aston Villa Football Club Board. #AVFC #UTV
Which leave their posts more frequently and why British Prime Ministers or Manchester United managers?
"Hello, is that Manchester taxis? It's a taxi for a Mr Carrick. Tomorrow morning first thing at the Carrington training base.......Yes, the manager's office........ What do you mean not again?"
100% spot on with every word, Henry. @henrywinter #AVFC

St Crispin's Day - which means it's #Agincourt time! OTD at Azincourt in 1415, forces under Henry V scored an unexpected victory against the French, an event made ever-famous by Mr Wm. Shakespeare. Noteworthy was the rapid fire of his archers, the machine-gunners of their day.

Deserved victory for Aston Villa rooted in every one of Emery’s players knowing his role and working tirelessly to fulfil it. All of Villa’s subs, Mbaye, Buendia, Barkley, Goretzka and Madjo, had an impact, hunting the ball, protecting the lead. Jackson MOTM, Cash immense #AVFC

FT: #AVFC 2-1 Man City
Fourth straight home win against City, perfectly marking Emery's four-year anniversary. Jackson will rightly get the headlines - he epitomises the rebooted Villa, with his second goal a demonstration of the pace & power the club wanted this summer. Yet Emery managed the game so well - fast start, Mbaye's sub to turn the tide and then nullifying City after going ahead again. You saw why there is so much optimism at Villa, despite a patchy league start.
