Working on something pretty cool for my @LadyVol_Hoops friends! Later today, I’ll be releasing my first game preview with predictive box score based on a simulation model that uses system and player stats and tendencies. Super excited to share this!
Excited to head back to the house that @CoachKim_ built! Likely the largest crowd since she had the @LadyPioneers_ packing out the Waco Center.
Not a big @WNBA watcher. But, some quick research on @KarlSmesko, and I can’t help but notice the parallels in the philosophies of him and @CoachKim_ . High level winners!
Based on some highlights I’ve seen lately, I am super high on Jada Eads. She’s the type of guard that can thrive in @CoachKim_ ‘s system. She’s a fearless attacker, a capable shooter, and a willing rebounder. I could easily see a 10PT , 5 REB, 4 AST, 2 STL stat line.
When the @LadyPioneers_ were at their best, they had gritty guards getting to the rim. @LadyVol_Hoops has a few of those this season. Better hop on the bandwagon before it’s too late.

Another notice from yesterday was @ryliet14. Last season, over half of her shots came from 3. Yesterday, she scores 16 with only 1 3 point make. She said during interviews this staff was focused on improving areas players may not have utilized in the past. Perfect example!

By my unofficial stat-keeping, Kaylene Smikle was the star — scoring 30 points on 14-for-21 shooting from the field.

This is it! When @CoachKim_ won the national title with the @LadyPioneers_ they took nearly 80% of shots from 2 including 46 points in the paint. Trust me it’s stock ⬆️ for @LadyVol_Hoops this season.

75% from 2! Also, for those that hate the 3 ball, the team took 68% of shots from 2. This is much more in line with successful teams that run this system. Last year, the Lady Vols took over 40% of shots from 3 which was the result of poor shot selection and selfish play often.

109 with only 6 made 3’s 👀 @LadyVol_Hoops fans are in for a treat this season. I’ve said all along that this system starts with downhill drives to the basket. This squad has gritty written all over it. This finally looks like a @CoachKim_ team!
