One year after Flight 2976, we remember the 15 lives lost and hold their loved ones close in our hearts.
We remain grateful to the first responders, community partners, Louisville residents and UPSers who showed extraordinary care and compassion in the days that followed and who continue to support one another.
Today, we pause to honor those we lost, support all who were affected, and recognize the strength of a community that came together in a moment of unimaginable heartbreak.

Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls.
That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching.
I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee.
Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

IONNA has seen a number of CCS charging station handles, localized particularly in the Midwest, with a bent ground pin.
This could cause subsequent damage to vehicles that would plug in after the affected car / adapter damaged the CCS connector.
What they are doing to stop this spreading is really interesting:
Daily health checks from an IONNA Employee in IN, IL, OH, MO
Complete network / country wide connector physical health check at every site nearly complete just after a few days 😮
They have ordered every adapter available on the market to test and retest to make sure it’s not a problem that could be linked to a new part
What you should do:
- Inspect every connector / inlet before plugging into CCS. This could spread to all networks / stations if not caught in time
- If you find a bent pin please tell me, @tommolog or @ionnaofficial and we will disable that connector and it’ll be replaced ASAP
Right now this is impacting an incredibly small number of users but to squash the problem we’ve got to get ahead of the spread. Thanks!

Everyone else in Amex Lounges is a low class reject.
Not you, though. The $895 you paid made you more special.
I’m done with @AmericanExpress platinum card. It was worth $900 a year when you could get into lounges with it. There was some exclusivity.
Now every low class reject gets in. An hour waitlist and then when you finally get in, it’s people on speakerphone, screaming, acting like it’s a Carnival cruise.
Amex has been enshittified. I’ll save my 895 bucks a year.

The internet revealed to me that there are now 20 years old who don’t get it.

I had one of these through Progressive, they called in Snapshot. My insurance premium was cut 30% and it was amazing. Or at least it was until I tried applying at the Post Office years later. At the time, my car was registered in Florida where I lived, but I parked my car while I was over the road at my parents house in South Carolina. Progressive calls me up about a month or 2 after I have the Snapshot plugged in, asking why my car was always parked in SC. I explained that I was a truck driver and that’s where I parked it while at work. They told me that since my car was in SC for the majority of the year, it needed to be insured in SC. Sweet, my premium dropped even lower. Then a month later I get home to Florida and I see there’s a letter from the DMV in Florida demanding I reinsure my Florida-registered vehicle back to Florida, or they were cancelling my license. The deadline for that was 3 days before I got home. Oops. A few phone calls and a $100 or so fine later, everything was fixed. But for the next 5 years, that cancellation, not suspension, of my license would come up every time I applied at USPS because that’s how far back they checked your driving record. What a pain in the ass.
A few years ago, my car insurance offered a deal: put a tracker in your car for six months and MAYBE your insurance rate would go down. The tracker had a built-in accelerometer and any time you messed up, it beeped at you, letting you know you were a bad driver.
I took the deal. What I noticed was that the most common reason for getting beeped at was slamming the brakes too hard. Coming to a sudden stop was, in the car insurance company's opinion, evidence of bad driving.
Long story short, I ran a LOT of red lights over those six months. I wouldn't want to dangerously slam the brakes, after all.
And after the six months were up, my insurance rate went way down!

So a woman booked a full-face makeup appointment for $200 and went to her wedding. Now the makeup artist is upset because she normally charges brides $800 for the SAME makeup.
Since when do we get mad because somebody didn’t pay a wedding markup? The makeup didn’t take any longer just because she was a bride! 😂
