I bet the apostles wish they could’ve learned how to do church from a lot of modern church leaders. I’m sure it would’ve made their lives easier and more successful. 🙄
Preaching through Heb 11 - walking by faith makes you look like a fool to the world, until it doesn’t. And it does so because God lets us see the next world. We live for it, not this one.
As we approach the holidays, some of you will be tempted to make dishes with cottage cheese. Let me implore you to refrain. 😉
The Reformation is a big deal today because most churches (including SBC) can’t tolerate full strength biblical teaching and practice governed by Scripture.
I don’t preach politics - I preach Christ and His Word. When govt goes against that, we should condemn it. Politics can’t advance the Kingdom, but never doubt its ability to make a trainwreck of things. That’s why it’s important to vote, even if it’s for the lesser of 2 evils.

I can’t divulge details at this point, but I have spoken to people close to my friend Sam Sey, and this is not a question of any deliberate law breaking. Anyone saying otherwise is not telling you the truth. And anyone rejoicing over his and his precious wife Annie’s difficulties in this situation is disgusting.
No one has ever married the “ideal spouse,” or joined the “ideal church.” You can have a wonderful and godly spouse and church, but they won’t be ideal - they’ll need you to give grace, just like you need it from them.
I haven’t had/taken the time to read much on the controversy surrounding ABS’ comments on scary movies. But honestly, I place more weight on how a Christian interacts with another bro or sis in Christ over the matter than what their opinion about watching scary movies is.
