We are always learning at CMA History. This is an achievement that Miss Byrne should be #proud of and the Humanities Team are certainly proud of her! Listening to some of the things she has learnt will continue to strengthen our curriculum and the experiences of our students. 🙌
Received my @histassoc ECDP certificate the other day. So proud to be part of such a fantastic community. I would highly recommend this course to any Early Careers History teachers! The best CPD I’ve done in a while. Made me think back to so many aspects of my training.

Absolutely brilliant!
Incredibly #PROUD of our ex student Oliver who is doing so well in his continued studies of A Level History. Was so lovely to have been sent a photo of this! Thank you!! @CmaHistory

A Year 9 brought in some WW2 family history today. I was beyond amazed at what he brought in. The photos are colleagues of his great nanny from her time in the WRAF with messages on the back. The letters of commendation show what a contribution she made. Just incredible.

Members of the CMA history team have been out visiting castles this week. Mrs Beaton has set a challenge of #22castlesin2022. Here's Mrs Jones' castle for #1, Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland. If others from CMA are visiting castles this year, let us know so we can reach 22!

What a wonderful opportunity Year 9 had this afternoon to listen to @DavidOlusoga. Thanks to the @BSCFestLit for organising the event and for David Olusoga for giving his time. Year 9, remember the different versions of his book are in the @CastleManorPLC ready to be borrowed!

Disability History Month is Nov 22-Dec 22. Whilst disability history should be woven into curriculums, I hope this resource will be useful to not only champion this month but also highlight where it can be further woven in. Link: drive.google.com/drive/folde… 1/3 🧵

The amazing opportunities just keep coming today! GCSE History students (and any other students interested!) - if you have the time, register for any of these free events that you can - they will supplement your learning about Lister for the Medicine part of the GCSE!

Calling all students of GCSE History - some great facts to supplement the Medicine course!
It's @DrLindseyFitz here. Let's kick off #ListerWeek! During the late 18th & early 19th centuries, bug catchers who rid hospital beds of lice were paid more than the surgeons. This trade card from @ExploreWellcome is for Andrew Cooke, who calls himself the "THE BUG DESTROYER."

Year 7 - if you've enjoyed learning about Mansa Musa recently, follow the YouTube link here to listen to an amazing discussion with @LukePepera (who is an expert!) on African History, including Mansa Musa! It will help you to understand why we are including these fab stories.
New from #BeBoldHistory! We met with @LukePepera last week to discuss Mansa Musa & other aspects of African history. Watch the full webinar #FREE here ⬇️⬇️⬇️ youtube.com/watch?v=bse_ADI2… @histassoc @1972SHP @danlyndon @nickdennis @History_Ben @Counsell_C @ArthurJChapman

So over the last few weeks, I set my students (and myself) the task of using counter factual reasoning in causal explanations, answering the question ‘Why did the English Civil War break out in 1642?’ It’s safe to say I am SO #PROUD of my Year 8’s @CastleManor @CmaHistory
