For the first time in program history, Highland Park Basketball enters the season ranked #1 in the state by both GASO & TABC.
An honor earned. A standard to uphold. And a whole season still in front of us.
Time to go to work. 🏀

GASO had plenty of talent in the gym! 🏀 Here are 27 players who caught our attention.
Alphabetical order, no rankings. Who stood out to you?

Chris Martinez Jr might be the smallest player on the floor at times, but he makes winning plays here he is breaking down the defense, getting his own offensive rebound and drawing the foul. Three red jersey surrounding him and he still comes up with it.

I could watch these kids from Highland Park hoop all day. They all play the right way fundamentally sound and how about this smooth mid range pull up in transition. @ScotsHoopsHP looking for a roster for you guys.

TABC Showcase Standout
2029 Chris Martinez controlled the game like a true offensive conductor.
Seeing passing windows before they exist. Delivering lasers through impossible gaps and puts every pass directly into a teammate’s shooting pocket.
Has a polished scoring package that allows him to finish over bigger defenders with touch and creativity
A winning point guard who doesn’t just score but also makes everyone better.

TABC Showcase:
Highland Park earned a convincing win in their opening game behind stellar performances from their backcourt duo of 2029 PG Chris Martinez and 2027 G Kellan Cantrell.
Martinez (#1) controlled the tempo throughout and showcased his high basketball IQ with elite playmaking ability. He has a quick first step and handle, consistently getting past defenders to create offense.
Cantrell (#11) proved to be a confident and efficient scorer, knocking down multiple threes while making smart decisions with the ball. He possesses a strong skill set and looks to make the right play on the court. #TABCShowcase
