Coach Averick, MBA

Seems like I see/hear this sentiment 5-10 times per day: “The quality of play in college soccer is so bad” & in some cases it’s correct… Now, Imagine how different things would be if at the ages of 5-18 players received proper training! Asking a college coach to find, win over & be able to work with only player who have the basics down when they also are competing with 1000+ other programs for the “players well trained in fundamentals” is very difficult and not realistic College coaches are lucky to get 1-2 per year who have the basics down and then they have to win now! College coaches are expected to break 15 years of bad habits in a matter of weeks before match #1 Not realistic! It’s why freshmen & sophomores are often not impact players It takes time to re-train players & get them to the point where they can play at the senior level Coaches work with what they are able to recruit. It’s not like they don’t try to get those few players who have the basics down, it’s that there aren’t enough of them out there who have a sound foundation Technically Tactically Physically Mentally

🚨FAFSA ALERT 🚨 The 2026–27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is available now at fafsa.gov. If your child plans to attend college or career/trade school between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027, encourage them to fill out their FAFSA form right away to be eligible for as much aid as possible. Remember: Your child must submit a FAFSA form every year they're in school to stay eligible for federal student aid. We recommend that your child complete their sections of the FAFSA form first to save time and prevent errors. Once they're finished, your child will send you an invitation to their FAFSA form with instructions on how to access and submit it. @SRUSA_Official

I feel like people need to hear this! By SRUSA founder @Chris_M_Cousins D1 coaches are typically recruiting a handful of players each year They get the choice of 1000’s upon 1000’s of players from the across the globe contacting them and available to them to choose from, many of whom are from professional level academies or even national teams Unless your profile stands out, it’s going to be really difficult to play at a D1 school Don’t get me wrong, there are exceptions, but I’m hearing too many families say D1 or nothing for their children who aren’t the profile that would be given the chance, with what is continuously available to them I want people to be realistic Playing College soccer at ANY level, is a privilege, but also will get you seen by the pro ranks IF you are good enough If you ever want any advice with your child please don’t hesitate to ask. We believe in helping because one day, you may just refer us to someone who needs our services @SRUSA_Official #collegesoccer
