This is awesome from Jon Scheyer
“You aren’t always going to be liked as a head coach but if you are always honest, and tell the truth, you will always have their respect”
We had a great retreat in Gulf Shores. The weekend definitely brought us close together. #SWARMAS1

Really enjoyed getting to talk to @CoachCWRIGHT about his journey to get to @BamaStateMBB. He’s won 73% of his games at the NAIA and D2 levels and is bringing a new look to Bama State. They’ve brought some serious talent in and I’m looking forward to see how he attacks the SWAC.
I’m proud of what our team did last season at Langston. We had a special group of guys that stuck together and handled a lot of adversity. I couldn’t be more thankful for their hard work and commitment.
All great people and tremendous basketball coaches! I am blessed to have a terrific staff!

The new coach of Alabama State basketball, Chris Wright, was working shifts at Outback Steakhouse by day and recruiting by night

Incredible story about what I believe was the best hire of the coaching cycle.
Chris Wright spent money he earned working shifts at Outback Steakhouse to go visit recruits.
Now he’s getting his first shot at a Division I job at Alabama State.
@joey_dwy spoke to Wright about his journey through the ranks.
