The formula for maxpreps is simple. Schedule as many top teams as you can, and win or lose, you will have a higher ranking. The caveat is that those top teams will go down in ranking by beating you. What matters more to a program?
People will also complain about the drop in quality of football player, lack of competition across the board, etc, and then go promote only the top programs, transfers, 7v7, etc. Oh, the irony
People look at scores and go, "Man, i remember when in county games used to be competitive". Well, they cant be competitive with all of the talent at one or two schools.

Interesting fact: A high school football game has 48 minutes on the clock.
But a study found the average play lasts just 5.6 seconds. At 130 plays, that’s roughly 12 minutes of actual action between BOTH teams.
Months in the weight room. Summer heat. Film. Practice. All for opportunities measured in literal seconds.
And you don’t know which 5.6 seconds will decide the game.
That backside block you took off? The pursuit you cut short because somebody else would get him?
That might’ve been it.
Saw a bad ref throw a flag for this last night. Shame on that guy.
Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic’s Daveon Belhomme primarily plays defensive back but takes pride in blocking while playing receiver 😳

I guess the Pasco County rushing record will live to fight another day. Thank you for the bulletin board material @Andy_Villamarzo. We needed it

Wow.
I'd like to sit down and do defensive stats with some of these coaches. See what they see. See if im too strict, see if theyre too generous, etc.
Young coaches may not, but us old farts sure do
Yesterday we spoke to our team about getting “Wally Pipp-ed”. If you don’t know the story, look it up. Not one player had heard of Pipp, but what I wasn’t expecting was none of them knew Lou Gehrig.
Do young coaches still teach the lesson of Wally Pipp?
