ADVICE MY DAD GAVE ME AS A KID THAT STILL GUIDES ME TODAY 1. Always keep some cash in your pocket. 2. Never let your fuel tank get too low. 3. Work hard, but never put work above family. 4. Use your vacation days. You've earned them. 5. Show up for people if you want them to show up for you. 6. Never forget to say thank you. 7. Leave places better than you found them. 8. Put the cart back. Pick up trash, even when it's not yours. 9. Don't brag about your income. 10. Do good things when nobody is watching. 11. It's okay to want nice things, but take responsibility for earning them. 12. Never forget what makes you valuable and different. 13. Stay committed to the things you start. 14. Do what you say you're going to do. 15. Live with integrity, always.

Missing kicks is part of the game. But how you miss matters. Did the ball barely slide outside the upright? Or was it a complete shank left? Because there’s a difference. One is a confident miss and one is usually a breakdown somewhere in the process. A confident miss tells you you’re close. The quicker you can coach yourself after the miss, the higher level of ball you’ll be able to play. Does it take you five kicks to make the adjustment, or can you fix it after one? The best specialists aren’t perfect. They just make corrections faster than everybody else. They understand what happened, trust their training, and move on without letting one miss turn into three. A lot of athletes panic after a miss and start changing everything. That’s where things snowball. High level guys can separate emotion from correction. Small adjustment. Full commitment. Next ball. That’s a huge part of becoming consistent. #TLK #BeAPro #StackDays #KickingCoach #TrustTheProcess

A bad coach tears people down. An average coach focuses only on results. A good coach teaches skills and systems. A great coach builds confidence and trust. An exceptional coach helps people believe in themselves at a higher level. And the best coaches impact lives long after the scoreboard stops mattering.

Training can be tiring, stressful, and boring at times, but you must learn to love the grind. Complaining only makes things worse.

Special teams matter and the best teams understand that
The Seahawks spend more on their special teams than any other team in the NFL at $9.325M in salary. Their kicker just scored over half the points and their punter downed a punt inside the five-yard-line as Seattle won the Super Bowl.

Seahawks had the No. 2 special teams in the NFL. Indiana had the No. 4 special teams in CFB. They matter.

Are you aiming, or are you just kicking the ball? Obviously, the uprights are where we're trying to score. But they shouldn't be your target. You should be picking a target inside and beyond the uprights, then focusing on driving the ball through that spot. When you do that, the uprights simply become a byproduct of your aim, not the focus. As a kicker, one of the first things I did when I got to a new stadium was walk the field. I studied each side and found aim points for different kicks. From the left hash, middle, and right hash, I always had a specific spot I was aiming at on every single kick. The uprights were never the destination. They were just in the way of where I was going. I wasn't kicking to the uprights. I was kicking through them. #TLK #BeAPro #Kicking #FootballTraining #DetailsMatter
