Good outcomes are a result of many, many, many good responses. Most of which are done with no immediate or foreseeable success. Love these boys! Champs forever 🏆💍

Dear @MLB, You made the bases larger and limited pitcher pickoff attempts in order to encourage more stolen bases in 2023. That worked. It became much easier to steal bases and the CS% dipped. Catchers responded by inventing new stances and techniques in order to combat the new “more offensive” game. Since then, we’ve seen CS% increase as catchers have adapted. Now, you want to shorten the distance from 1B to 2B by 9” to encourage more stolen base attempts…again. Please stop trying to change the game we all love. Baseball fans don’t want this. #LeaveTheGameAlone mlb.com/news/new-rule-change…

JORGE POSADA: “I CAN’T WATCH TODAY’S BASEBALL.” Yankees legend Jorge Posada, a 4-time World Series champion and one of the faces of the dynasty years, (The Core 4) did not hold back during his interview on Abriendo El Podcast. Posada said today’s game has become too robotic, too obsessed with formulas, and too accepting of strikeouts. “The baseball being played today is garbage,” Posada said. He also pushed back hard on the analytics crowd trying to judge Derek Jeter’s defense strictly through modern numbers. “You can’t judge Jeter through a computer.” That line right there is pure old-school Yankees. Posada came from an era where putting the ball in play mattered. Moving runners mattered. Taking pride in not striking out mattered. He said back then, striking out 100 times in a season felt like you were not doing your job. Now? Guys can strike out constantly, hit 30 home runs, bat .202, and still get paid like stars. His message was simple: The game got smarter on paper, but dumber between the lines. #yankees #repbx

Jacob Misiorowski said he slipped on the pitch he threw 105.5 mph tonight. Then was asked if 106 is possible: “I definitely think its possible. Science says you can hit 108. Someone eventually is going to hit it. If that’s me, cool. I don’t think that's something I need to focus on. Speed is cool but if it doesn’t win a ballgame it doesn't matter."

North Carolina 2B Gavin Gallaher on his emotions immediately after the game and what this year’s Tar Heels team truly means to him. “This is probably the most hurt I've ever felt in my life, and not just because we're one game away from doing something that no UNC baseball team has ever done, but more so just because this is the end of the season. We say it all the time, from the very beginning, this team will never be this team again.”

The young kid who got Kyle Branch’s HR ball in the championship gave it back to the family and the person who got Kolby’s from the semifinals contacted Rusty Branch to give it to him. 🥹 So both Branch boys’ final at-bats of year were homers and the family has both baseballs.

Scoring the first run of the College World Series on the first straight steal of home in Omaha in over a quarter century to break your school's single-season stolen base record is a pretty loaded accomplishment.

Alabama is the only SEC team that hasn't had anyone enter the transfer portal yet. That is pretty telling of the culture Rob Vaughn and the rest of the coaching staff are building.
