Who was Throwing Dimes 🏈 this week?
Granite Hills QB @ZacharyBenitez3 put on a show, throwing for 280 yards and 5 Passing Touchdowns as the Eagles defeated Grossmont.
Zach Benitez also reached a major career milestone, surpassing 10,000 passing yards for his career and moving into 2nd all-time in San Diego. Benitez is now just 18 passing touchdowns away from becoming the all-time career passing touchdown leader in San Diego.
He’s your Week 7 GOAT+DIME Gunslinger of the Week 🔥🎯.

🔥 OFF TO AN MVP-TYPE START!
Through the first four games of the season, these San Diego high school football stars are making their presence felt and putting up some serious numbers.

Great team win vs the #1 team in the county‼️ O-Line was dominant and guys stepped up in the biggest moments. Our swarming defense came up huge with a goal-line stand. Nino hauled in another can’t-miss catch with the game on the line. #uncommitted @_ninothompson1

Nino continues to set the standard.
One of the most coachable players I’ve been around. He takes feedback, applies it immediately, and never makes the same mistake twice. No excuses, no ego, just a genuine desire to get better every single day. #uncommited

Amazing insight into the preparation that goes into play calling. Love that Holmgren says ‘the first 10 script is not an emotional call’ which happens throughout different parts of the game

Week 1 tape: 2 catches for 29 yards (14.5 avg, long of 20) vs OHS. Tough result, 29-44, but we kept competing all four quarters. @granitehillsfb @Coach_Leance @Daygofootball @SDProspectsFB

Not the result we wanted to start our season. We made too many mistakes across all 3 phases. We had a few bright spots and that includes, @_ninothompson1
School Records he owns:
Most Catches in a game (15)
Tied for most TD catches in a game (4)
We will bounce back‼️
Nothing like some frosh football to start the season! Future is now🏈🏆 @granitehillsfb
More of this attitude helps ALL sports and athletes at the high school level!
Multi sport athletes> specialists
I watched Broncos practice with Dave Logan on Saturday. He's not only one of the best high school football coaches in the country, the voice of the Broncos, and played 9 years in the NFL as a WR. He was drafted in MLB, NBA, and the NFL. We had a long conversation about this very topic. He wants all his players to play other sports and encourages it. His QB missed some of camp to attend an elite basketball camp and he had no problem with it. His perspective on this is outstanding and very similar to what's below.
Friday night lights are untouchable but first day of fall camp has its own place in football memories. We’re lucky to be able to defend another championship this year and chase history. Let’s go get some more hardware #FourTheLegacy @ZacharyBenitez3 @granitehillsfb
