FINAL: 17-13 Temple
The Owls pull off a huge upset over undefeated USF, they just put a very good wrench in a lot of expectations surrounding them.

The last time Temple beat USF in Tampa, I was on Temple’s sideline in 2019. Tonight, the Owls went back and did it again—taking down an undefeated USF team. After so many close losses, this kind of win means everything. Coach Keeler has this team fighting, and Temple made the whole city of Philadelphia so proud. #TempleTuff

Temple’s Four Wins Against Penn State
• 1931 in Philadelphia, 12-0
• 1932 in Philadelphia, 13-12
• 1941 in Philadelphia, 14-0
• 2015 in Philadelphia, 27-10
In 2015, State College High School grad and former Penn State walk-on linebacker Matt Rhule led Temple to a 27-10 win in front of nearly 70K fans at the Linc.
His defense, led by Haason Reddick and Tyler Matakevich, sacked Christian Hackenberg 10 times, holding Penn State to less than 200 yards of total offense.
On Saturday, Matt Campbell and his Penn State Nittany Lions will head 200 miles east to Philadelphia to face off against the Temple Owls.
Penn State has faced Temple 45 times dating back to 1931. The Nittany Lions lead the series with 40 wins, while the Owls have four victories, with one 7-7 tie in 1950.
The largest margin of victory: 52 points when Penn State won 66-14 in 1995.
The longest win streak: 31 games from 1952-2014 for Penn State
