With passes lighting up night sky in both Whatcom County and Canada - Blaine QB Connor Brown delivered more than just a gem.
His 567 yards against Sultan on Thursday ranks No. 5 all-time in @wiaawa 11-man football.

This kid deserves to be recognized. Delivered time and time again in a competitive football game against a quality opponent from the classification above us. Heck of a competitor.

Proud of this group's perseverance and resilience. They get better every week and play with joy. It's never about who we play, it's about how we play.
This @Mariners team is going to make a run...at the 2011 mariners 17 game losing streak.
Plenty of fans still showing up to these games but the @Mariners forgot to pay the power bill. The electric factory might as well be a Sunday at your local golf course.
This mariners team is the most disappointing version of the organization over my 30+ years of being a fan. No heart, no fight, all the talent, just to roll over and die. Hard to watch.

Correct
Especially with your buddies you have grown up playing with.
Too many kids these days have no core memories of HS sports bc they chased false promises
Thanks @LakewoodCougsFB and @MCPainTrain77 for hosting the boys from Blaine today. Always a great way to wrap up summer football activities! Looking forward to getting after it again with this group in 3 more weeks. #goborderites
The Borderites were blessed to be able to go to football camp in the Tri-Cities this week! A great week of memories, team bonding, development, and fun. Appreciate the 7 coaches from our staff for sacrificing their time from family and work to pour into the Blaine Family!

A PARENT’S JOURNEY THROUGH YOUTH SPORTS:
Age 5: “He’s got a cannon.”
Age 6: “He’s the fastest kid out there. Coach said so.”
Age 7: “Rec ball isn’t challenging him anymore.”
Age 8: “We tried out for select. Obviously made it.”
Age 9: “$2,800 for the season. Plus uniforms. Plus tournaments. Plus hotels.”
Age 10: “Cooperstown is basically a family vacation, right?”
Age 11: “He needs a hitting guy. And a pitching guy. And probably a mental performance coach.”
Age 12: “I’m not a crazy sports parent. The OTHER parents are crazy.”
Age 13: “We changed schools. For academics. (And also baseball.)”
Age 14: “Showcases are a requirement at this age.”
Age 15: “Ya his ranking just ticked up. We’re cooking.”
Age 16: “He just needs to get seen by the right school.”
Age 17: “The D1 schools want him to walk on. He’ll earn a spot by sophomore year.”
Age 18: “Okay, D2 is actually really competitive.”
Age 19: “He’s redshirting. Strategic.”
Age 20: “He’s focusing on school now.”
Age 21: “You know what? He’s so much happier.”
Roughly 7% of high schoolers play in college.
About 1.5% of those get drafted.
Less than half of draftees ever play one day in the big leagues.
The odds of our kids going pro are somewhere between “struck by lightning” and “find a $100 in old shorts.”
I love youth sports (all my kids play a bunch of them) just keep a good perspective my friends. ✌️
Thanks for swinging through Blaine yesterday! #goborderites
Excited to be on the road in PNW Washington looking for future Central Washington Wildcats! #CWUFB
This is on the Mount Rushmore for great defensive plays in Gonzaga history. RIP to a legend.
Brandon Clarke is perhaps the coolest player to play a season at Gonzaga, holding what I view as the coolest stat and highlight in program history.
Clarke averaged nearly 17 points per game on 68% field goal efficiency while being an elite defender with 3.2 blocks per game. CLARKE HAD AS MANY BLOCKS AS HE HAD MISSED FIELD GOALS in his lone season in Spokane.
He also gave us an all-time defensive highlight. Not only stealing the soul of the player who tried dunking on him but also the entire Tennessee bench seeing him rob a jam.
RIP to a special, special dude.
If baseball was played on dynamic difficulty the Seattle Mariners would be hitting on the Rookie setting by now.
3/31 apparently is the day to release high school football schedules...so here is ours! Looking forward to continuing the mission with this group. #goborderites #alwayscompete
Sad to see this be the end of the Saint Mary's run, without the Zags the writing was on the wall. Tommy Lloyd and Randy Bennett will have me tuning in to every Territorial Cup basketball game moving forward though!
The seeds and brackets will call this an upset, but for those of us who follow this team on a nightly basis, it was far from it. Hats off to the coaching staff for squeezing what little juice this group had out and making it to the 2nd round. Future is bright. Go Zags
Anyone else excited to find out which overplayed ncaa tournament commercial will haunt our dreams for the next three weeks?! Let the madness begin!
