Brad Stevens was asked about his non-negotiables in sports and life. He named 3 things. Simple. Clear. They had nothing to do with winning and everything to do with why people loved playing for him. Here's what he said and how you can use it: (📌Bookmark for later)

This how hard you have to work to be great! When we say game speed and go hard this is what it means. Great stuff here!
Look how hard Ausar Thompson goes in his ball handling workouts Not surprising to see him have success (Via @NoCeilingsNBA 🎥)

"We are not trying to repeat an outcome. We are trying to repeat a process." You don’t build dynasties by chasing results. You build them by mastering the habits that produce them. The scoreboard only reveals what the process already decided.

All jokes aside I only wanna to coach because seeing a kid light up and realize they may be good at basketball is one of the best feelings in the world. Especially when only I can tap into that. That’s the feeling that keeps me coming back

Really good stuff here from Jay Wright “The most open you will ever be is when you first catch the ball….The habits of most players is to catch and dribble or catch and hold” Great teaching point (Via @Coach_PatCasey 🎥)

This is great stuff here from Tarris Reed Jr, just hours after UConn's loss in the national championship.
After the team flew back following UConn’s National Championship loss, Tarris Reed Jr. prepared a speech on short notice for UConn’s Athletes In Action meeting. “I told myself I would let the Holy Spirit speak through me.” He revealed that night, both Azzi Fudd and KK Arnold of UConn WBB got baptized Truly amazing work and an inspirational message from T-Reed 🙏 (Via iamtarrisreed/IG)

My thoughts on @MarchMadnessMBB 1. Size Matters 2. Can’t just recruit in US especially for lower budget teams 3. Arizona - Michigan WOW are they good! 4. UConn - Duke game maybe was the best college game of all time. 5. UCONN is so tough!!! 6. Final 4 is going to be elite!

Elite TRUE Point Guard - 3 level scorer - great vision - assist machine - on court leadership - great instincts - 3rd in NCAA D2 in steals per game 2.96 SPG (4th last year) … does it all & a WINNER 🏆
Winds up being first team all conference D2. Not shocked. Don’t make the same mistake twice

Joe Mazzulla said, "A coach's greatest gift is a group of guys that want to be coached, want to be led." "Everything starts with them. Their ability to buy, their ability to execute." Leadership thrives when people embrace 3 things: 1: Growth 2: Accountability 3: Teamwork

The best coaches don’t just study the game. They study other ways to see the game. That’s what Joe Mazzulla did this summer. Instead of staying comfortable, he went to France, not for vacation, but to learn. He spent time with Le Mans head coach Guillaume Vizade to exchange ideas about basketball philosophy spacing, ball movement, and how to teach offense. And months later… it showed up. Not as a copied system. But as a refined one. More flow. More movement. More intentionality. Here’s what most people miss: Growth doesn’t come from doing more of the same. It comes from seeing the same thing differently. Mazzulla didn’t go to France to find answers. He went to ask better questions. The best leaders don’t just gather information, they translate it into something that fits their people. Where are you still operating from comfort instead of curiosity?

This is great advice for HS prospects. Go where you are wanted & where you have the best chance of playing. You only get better, get stats & exposure if you play. Same advice should be applied to choosing a prep school & AAU program. Go somewhere where you are wanted & can play
Alex Wilkins was one of the very best mid-major freshmen in the country this year. Furman takes on UConn tonight. We talked about Wilkins on a @247Sports College Basketball Show back in January. 📺 youtu.be/Y-2NW0dQXLc?si=petl…
