Extremely difficult news out of Rio Rancho HS:
Athletic director Sal Gonzales has lost his battle with cancer. Sal died Monday afternoon.
Not unexpected, but still, a complete gut punch. Sal was a terrific guy, and this will cut deep through the RRHS community.

Here’s a new quote for all you coaches to use….. my 9 year old referenced something as a “poop production” today….. you know- a 💩 show…… toooo smart I tell ya!
It’s about damn time. It’s amazing to me. We are still able to get all Americans for the women’s track and field team to run at NMHU… I ran on that track from 2004 to 2009 and it was garbage then Highlands has been really lucky that Coach Devries makes it work.

Alamogordo High School all over this year's NMHSCA Hall of Honor that colleague @JamesDYodice just wrote about.
James, your phone keeps going to voicemail for some reason, so I just sang the Alamo fight song there for you.
Seventeen times.
