Texas is refusing to release basic information about its billion-dollar voucher scam.
The unelected Comptroller wants to double the program’s budget but won’t provide data on how the money is being spent.
If taxpayers are footing the bill, they should know what they're paying for.
NEW: Texas Comptroller @DonHuffines touts open government.
But when it comes to the $1 billion student voucher program he oversees, it's a secret.
His office said it was to prevent me and others from "doxxing ... Texas students."

The people who run this wonderful, frustrating, amazing, stupid sport keep telling fans at schools like New Mexico that they don’t matter.
And then 35,000 people showed up on a stormy Saturday and showed why they always will.
Just an amazing night.

This show is so beloved because it’s built on the real relationship between friends who genuinely know sports and love talking about them. A 30-min show that puts substance over hot takes and hosts who care more about the games than going viral. Truly the last of a dying breed.

I mean, just an all-time TV segment. Making Chuck do Who He Play For multiple times in a row with the same players is a brilliant idea and I was legit crying laughing by the end, my god.

Every day, a little bit of what we all love about the game erodes away. The powers in charge take a tiny bit more but soon there won’t be anything left to take.

I freeze it when the dribble ends, which is when the hand goes under AND the ball clearly pauses. He sneaks in 4 steps after this, only allowed two. Yikes.

It’s increasingly harder to get a CDL. The unfortunate of education seems to be let’s add on, not take off and punish those who do their duties consistently. This is a backwards model! It does stress staffs when there aren’t many drivers. There’s got to be better way for all

My favorite was being rewarded for getting my CDL by being told I had to drive other extra circulars because they didn’t have a driver….
If HS coaches are forced to get CDLs so should everyone else that’s in charge of any UIL team. Band… dance… theatre… all of it….

I respectfully disagree with this mentality! Coaches are already overworked and underpaid as it is. Reducing stipends for coaches who don’t have a CDL is the wrong approach and will only push more coaches out of the profession.
If districts need more coaches to obtain their CDL, incentivize it through additional compensation rather than penalizing those who don’t have one. Coaches already give countless hours beyond the school day to serve their student-athletes.
We should be looking for ways to RETAIN quality coaches, not create more reasons for them to leave the profession! 💯🏈🏀🏌️♂️

Most people in France can't afford housing.
They didn't blame immigrants, or transgender people, or video games, or avocado toast.
They blame the government. Because that's who's responsible. That's always who's responsible.

BREAKING: America’s $1.7 trillion auto loan market is headed for a crash, per Reuters.
Auto loans are now one of the biggest sources of household debt, bigger than credit cards.
And the strain is showing: 1 in 5 Americans is behind on at least one loan, the highest since 2010, and the average car on the road is now nearly 13 years old, a record.
Finally! So many critics don't see or understand the value tactically this can be if you are behind late in a game. Teams can continue to play zone if they are still behind and have trouble guarding. It also eliminates holding the ball if you are ahead.
The UIL approved a mandated 35-second shot clock for basketball starting in 2028-29 school year for 6A and 5A, with other classes to adopt it in following years. 6A and 5A schools would have the option to use it in the 2027-28 school year.

Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas hands his 21-year-old son a check for $10,000.
"Okay. You're on your own," Kirk says.
Michael looks at the check. "That's great, Dad, but I still have two years of college tuition left."
Kirk doesn't care. The lesson has started. The bank is closed.
For the next 30 years, Kirk Douglas proudly brags to his other children and everyone who would listen: "Michael never asked me for another dime. I gave him that money, and that was it. I made him a man."
He believed his extreme tough love had worked perfectly. Until Michael finally sat him down three decades later.
"Dad, you remember those beautiful, soft Italian leather suitcases you bought me for Christmas back then?" Michael asked.
"Yeah," Kirk smiled.
"Well, I found out that each suitcase could hold exactly 22 kilos of marijuana."
To pay his tuition and survive his father's brutal lesson in self-reliance, Michael became a drug smuggler. He moved product across the country using the exact same bags his father bought him.
Society glorifies tough love. We are told that cutting the safety net and applying maximum pressure is the only way to build true character.
But when you push someone to the absolute edge, they don't always learn the moral lesson you intended. Sometimes, they just learn how to survive by any means necessary.
