This kills me! 6th men. Bench guys. Culture guys. They’re always celebrated until it’s your kid… they’re so important! Starters don’t matter, they’re just the ones that need less thought to contribute & less emphasis on mistakes. It’s the guys that close that matter most!

Language is 🔑

Don’t care much about who you used to be, not banking on who you say you’re gonna be. I’m worried about who you are today and how great of that version you’re giving us! Focus on NOW! Ten toes down!

One of the hardest working freshman in the area. @josiah_francis3 #AlwaysUS! Today he had a 500 shot workout and has a program high total of 8,050 in his pursuit of 10k shot challenge.

1-2 players on every varsity team are the coaches go-to for younger players to look at as super skilled or gifted players to aspire being. 10-12 other guys need to be modeling the consistency & habits that make a team successful & build a program! #AlwaysUS!

HS Athletes! 🫡 You can’t TELL coaches how much you care in season if we can remember all the times you didn’t SHOW us how much you care in the off-season! Sports require consistency to perform! Yesterday’s work had an expiration date of today! Expectations are a privilege.

Parents! I value them & their support! All I ask is that you keep the message consistent! If basketball is not “their lives” right now that’s totally ok & even healthy, but make sure to relay that same message in the season when they’ve had minimal varsity opportunities & DNPs.

The hardest part is figuring out when to turn the page to the next chapter, because trusting that the story’s not over isn’t easy.

What a luxury it is to have the choice to “be tough”! Coaches aren’t being insensitive jerks when they’re pushing you to overcome something tough. They’re preparing you for when life demands toughness & “Quitting” or giving half effort will result in the loss of something more!
