With all the MNT talk I’ve decided a big part of the soccer problem is just shit coaches at the youth, pro and college level. Not all by any means but some that ruin this for kids. They can’t get licenses but are responsible for the players. Is insane.
The fact there are two current pros in this group (USL and Benefica) along with some
College players is insane. Small little town in Kentucky produced them.

A quote I’ve said to so many people that I still believe to be true.
A good coach can affect 10% of a players game.
A bad coach can affect 90%.
Basketball can be played run and gun, slow it down, four corners. Football has running game, west coast offense etc. but in soccer the experts think there is only one right way to play. You play the way that makes you win. That simple. Way over complicated

Saw a club post about their class of 24 commits. At least 10 of the 18 have yet to play a game for the club. They left their former club after committing. It's really misleading and poor behavior
I’ll die on this hill. In tournament elimination games you play your best players and sub only if needed or a role player that creates can add value. Tournaments are not the time to be fair. The exception being u12 or below. Even then play time is smartly managed.
Congrats to @andy_schulten and @vikings2121 Class acts that continue to thrive. Good luck this weekend!
100%. Blue collar, fight for it, work hard, good luck finding that. The kids think they’ve already made it at 14 years old. And who’s fault is that?

Must listen
"I don't care what boxes we tick. There's no development at the [U.S.] youth stage."
@carlilloyd breaks down what she believes is fundamentally wrong with the U.S. soccer system on the latest episode of Kickin' It, streaming NOW on @paramountplus 🔥
What's wrong with USSF
PSA...quit normalizing 13 year olds doing more travel to play league games than most D2 and D3 colleges. The time will come, it isn't at this age. Kids don't need this. I promise there is only a 0.2% chance you have a pro. Be realistic.

Replying to @LVHoosierGK
@LVHoosierGK is SO spot on!
Injuries will happen, it’s the nature of our game
It sucks, but here is my Advice to injured players:
Volunteer for everything
Help gather every ball
Sweep the shed daily
Collect gear
Hang by coaches
Ask questions
Volunteer to stat, film or whatever
Stay as involved as you possibly can
& of course do everything in your power to facilitate healing
Be where you’re supposed to be, doing everything you’re supposed to do
That’s my advice
Too many injured players go off and hang by themselves.
Huge mistake

Players and Coaches:
One of the toughest aspects of injuries is the ability to stay connected and engaged within a team setting. Those that pull away and disappear from training typically struggle the hardest with mental health issues, while those that feel a part of a team have to quickest path to recovery.
Coaches it is your job to ensure that players feel connected and feel great about the prospect of coming back.
They are still part of the team after all.
Messi going to his kid’s game and sitting one out is awesome to see. Given he probably hasn’t been able to do that often!
Hmmm, another one so close, I think it might happen. Elite FC alum Nolan Brice rocking it at MSL2 FC Cincinnati!
At this point it is very clear you can write off a ton of regions that stand no chance to win state, even though it is set up how it is to punish some and reward smaller ones.
Hate seeing a team that should be good playing nothing but trash teams with only 1-2 quality matches all season. A wasted season the way I view it. Could have gotten so much more out of it to get ready for next year when Senior heavy. Takes time to learn to play the big dogs.
Why HS is better than club.
- You play for a team, not as an individual
- In most cases you have to prove you are better, mom and dad can’t just switch your team
- Sidelines have fans and it’s fun, club sidelines full of parents yelling at their kid no peers to be seen
