This morning I lost my Pops. I ask that you keep my family in your prayers. I also ask if you have a cool story about him, go ahead and share it with us. If you didn’t know him, SHARE some cool stories of your dad or someone who impacted your life! 🎣🏈🙏 #SamoanSuperman – at Bakersfield, CA

Agree, the thing about technology is that the Sunday meetings are shorter. When I started in 99. It was all day sat. 7or8am to 3-4 pm. Technology has turned that all day grind into a 2-3 hour meeting. Because coaches can prepare at home, most of that meeting is talking personnel, practice structure, things going on that week and obviously game planning and more importantly a lot of laughing.

Coaching MATTERS…not just the X’s & O’s. Coaches as we all begin our season, remember our job is to first raise honorable men. #GeneralsLEAD

OL Coaches!! Do you have a Nickname for your OL group? If so, what is it? At @PHSMarinersFB ours is the Sea Dawgs! Also, we should all make shirts and do a giant shirt swap and rep each others groups!

There was a year where we threw the ball 30-50 times a game. One time we played a game. We were up like 42-35 at half. We ended up winning 69-50 something. I turned on my phone after the game and had a ton of texts from a parent about what plays I should be calling.

I love coaching where I coach. Imagine being a high school athlete and your coach tells you that on Friday nights you get to play RB, LB, return kicks and punt the ball. You get to play 120+ snaps under the lights! Compared to that kid who plays at a large high school with 120 kids on the roster and get's to play only one side of the ball. Maybe 60 snaps if he is lucky. Play 10 games. Athlete #1 plays 1,200 snaps. Athlete #2 plays 600 snaps. Smaller school football is where it's at. But coach, I gotta play for a big school so I can get noticed by colleges. Nah... How about you play at a smaller school where you play 120+ plays per game, show how versatile you are and dominate your division. College coaches will find you. I promise you that.

This morning we suddenly lost my father, Ken Blazer. He was the best Dad a kid could ask for. Was on the sideline for every one of my games, as a player and coach. The world is a darker place today because you are not in it, Dad. Miss you like hell.
