lol i remember Jobs saying he'd never want a touch screen macbook, as it would be "ergonomically terrible"
Mobile devs this one’s for you: test your apps directly on the MacBook Pro’s touchscreen!!!! πŸ‘†πŸ“²

did i take a time machine back 5 years to 2021? what the hell is this nonsense?
we remain in the autocomplete / early claude code era of enterprise workflow automation, but not for long

i keep talking about companies that are non-technical that are more advanced than this...

ooh weird, never seen this before... model went haywire! there's tens of thousands of lines of this.... oops!

.@eBay is complete shit... 25 year old account gives you no special treatment, you still have to deal with the third world country customer support, if they don't randomly force you to interact with the ridiculously slow AI support. 20k worth of sales & only 1 device has worked.

i will say i've been protected by the ebay buyer's guarantee, but it's definitely a reminder of how old and antiquated @eBay's platform is, and how third world the customer support truly is. they literally have no insight or ability to do ANYTHING.

like you can tell the platform is 25+ years old and just been duct taped over and over... it feels awful outside of just clicking "buy" and having the item working when delivered... anything outside of that you feel like you walked into a 90's mall but only the kiosks are in biz

and with ai it's so much easier! I have 2 dependencies across 7 projects, and it's just lit and it's html package.

don't believe the fat bald coke gremlins when they tell you no one wants ai
I know there are some legitimate concerns with AI, but I have to say… In a household with three young kids, two full-time jobs, and one dog, AI has felt like nothing short of a personal gift from God. The Husband and I use it for everythingβ€” it’s probably bought us 30-60min extra with our kids each day. Really grateful for the talents of others who make it possible.

yep, and if we blink, it'll pass us right by!
I'm losing count of the "Github Actions but faster and cheaper" startups. I know a race to the bottom when I see one...

this is already proving false. we call this C O P E.

If your project is worth using, there will be many clones of it. None of them will be as good, and all of them will be abandoned. Take it as a sign you're on to something.

$SNDK is now above 1400 with just minutes to go before close... this is exciting!

thinking every person on the planet needs to understand tech details is actually a failure on your part. I personally wouldn't expect you to know how a combustion engine works. yet you drive. you likely hire out for everything, maybe even cooking...

I had to tell them about flow generation instead of stable diffusion and how image generation changes. but the concept is .. wayy beyond their understanding. it seems a lot of the people are legitimately children.

I disagree, we're exactly made to adapt for survival. if you study philosophy, the likes on Locke/Hobbes/Rousseau, these kinds of people are classified as maladapted or lacking evolutionary fitness. in political terms, they're called The Precariat or The Permanent Underclass.

Yeah…I wouldn’t mind having a productive conversation, but most of the attacks are 2-3 years old. Humans aren’t really capable of adjusting this fast and the cracks are starting to show.

the second half of being highly educated and correct is to also know when & how to communicate effectively w/the party involved, should you care to be effective. if you're talking to a blue haired retard that think AI art is theft, you need to phrase it so they can understand.
Getting real frustrated with people saying "generative AI" to me, that's the biggest red flag of anti-AI psychosis and a lack of education. I understand they mean 2022 stable diffusion, but the world has moved on from that and I'm tired of people living under rocks who think they're authorative on the matter. It's getting tiring. particularly because most of these people seem to be kids. like actual kids.

I've seen 2 marketing teams use Claude to set up site hosting, an internal document search engine, and a screenshot generating tool. not everything is public facing, but still a technical feat that just 3 months ago their dev teams told them it would take 2 years total to build.
I've been talking to a lot of engineering managers and CTOs lately. Here's what I keep hearing: - Writing code is now about 2% of the work of shipping a product. - PMs are writing / pushing code now. - Everyone in the company is basically an engineer. Whoever moves first wins. - Teams ship way more features, but can't tell which ones actually help. - They'd happily pay for a tool that tells them if a feature will work before they ship it. - Security is a whole new problem, and honestly, most teams don't know how to deal with it. Essentially, building & shipping code is solved. Knowing that software is safe, reliable, and correct isn't solved. Knowing that customers will use the product isn't solved. Knowing that your sales folks can sell the product isn't solved.

my best "game" currently has 45 million concurrent users TODAY. and I wrote it 20 years ago. let that sink in a bit.

how embarrassing would it be to release a game with Kenny's assets in it... literally less effort than curating ai gen, and much worse and generic looking. not to mention if others also are sad sacks releasing with his assets, then nothing about your "game" stands out

granted it's an edutainment system that involves teachers, but they only account for about 2MM users... the rest of the 43MM are students that play it for at least 3 hours a day as part of their daily curriculum.

I'm sure @KenneyNL isn't doing those numbers with all his assets, games, and tools combined...
