🚨Wayne Rooney reacts to Manchester United’s humiliating 3–0 defeat to Bournemouth: 🗣️Rooney: “I watched that and felt sick. A group of players who looked like they couldn’t be bothered, a team with no identity, no fight and no idea what they’re supposed to be, and a club that has spent over a decade actively destroying everything that made it special. That’s what this 3–0 humiliation at home to Bournemouth actually was. I feel for Michael. I really do. Deep down he knows this is probably the end for him. You can see it in his face. He’s a good lad, a proper United man, and he’s been handed a squad that doesn’t have the character or the quality to compete. But let’s stop pretending he’s the problem. He isn’t. Manchester United’s crisis starts right at the top — with the people who keep making the same catastrophic decisions, the same disastrous recruitment, the same lack of any clear direction year after year. This club has been in institutional decline since Sir Alex left, and every new manager is just another scapegoat for the people who actually run the place. Look at that performance today. From the first whistle there was no urgency. Bournemouth scored from a set piece because half the team switched off. Then Yoro slips over in his own box and they walk it in. Then the goalkeeper comes charging out and gets done from a ridiculous angle. That’s not tactics. That’s a team that has no defensive organisation, no concentration, and no pride. When things go wrong, there is zero response. No leaders. No one grabbing the game. Just players standing around looking sorry for themselves while the fans who pay their wages are left embarrassed. And this squad… some of these players are among the most embarrassing I’ve ever seen wear that shirt. The mentality is soft. The quality in big moments is nowhere near the standard this club used to demand. The character is missing. They care more about themselves than the badge. You saw it with the comments this week. They throw their toys out of the pram the second they’re criticised and then put in a performance like this. It’s pathetic. People will scream for Carrick to be sacked. Fine. Do it. But don’t kid yourselves it changes anything. You could appoint the best manager in world football tomorrow morning and this club would still be a mess. Because the problems run far deeper than tactics or formations. The structure is broken. The recruitment is broken. The standards are gone. The accountability is non-existent. The same cycle of failure repeats every single season while the people at the top hide behind the next manager they can hang out to dry. This club has lost its identity. It used to be about winning, about standards, about never accepting second best. Now it’s about excuses, soft players, and a revolving door of managers who get blamed for a mess they didn’t create. Supporters are being forced to watch the same collapse over and over again, and it’s painful because we all remember what this club used to be. Until the people running Manchester United finally look in the mirror and accept responsibility for the mess they’ve created, the suffering will continue. No matter who is standing on the touchline.

My day has been spent going to Old Trafford to see #MUFC play and now I am watching the #StrictlyComeDancing results show. It’s been all about endurance, wary repetition of dire form and disappointment…🥱

Richard O'Connor might be the most underrated British general of WW2, and he came close to winning the desert war before Rommel ever showed up. September 1940. Italy invades Egypt with an army of roughly 150,000 men. Britain's Western Desert Force has about 30,000. O'Connor commands it. In December he launches Operation Compass. It was planned as a five-day raid. Instead his troops overrun the Italian camps at Sidi Barrani, then keep going. Bardia falls. Tobruk falls. In two months they push more than 500 miles across Libya. The finale is Beda Fomm. The Italians are retreating along the coast road. O'Connor sends a small force straight across the open desert, through terrain nobody thought vehicles could handle, to get ahead of them and block the road. When the Italian columns arrive, the trap is already shut. After two days of fighting, the Italian 10th Army is finished. His signal to headquarters read: "Fox killed in the open." The final count: around 130,000 prisoners, about 400 tanks, and hundreds of guns captured. British losses were under 2,000 killed, wounded, and missing. O'Connor wanted to push on to Tripoli and kick the Axis out of North Africa entirely. London said no. His best troops were pulled out and shipped to Greece, where the campaign went badly. Days after the Germans arrived in Libya, Rommel was on the offensive. In April 1941, O'Connor was driving through the desert at night when his car ran straight into a German patrol. He spent the next two and a half years as a prisoner in Italy, locked in a castle outside Florence with other senior officers. He never stopped trying to escape. After Italy surrendered in 1943, he got out, made his way through German-occupied territory, and reached Allied lines. Within months he was commanding a corps in Normandy. He was arguably the best British field commander of the early war, and he spent the years he could have done the most damage behind barbed wire.

Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. Enough is enough. President Trump should rescind the diesel deal with Russia and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; use the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia Act to impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Andy Burnham has now explicitly acknowledged that Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum and is using disinformation to undermine Western democracies. So how do people feel about the fact that Brexit, Trump, Reform/Restore etc and the wider rise of the far right all advance political outcomes that serve Russia’s strategic interests by weakening Western unity and dividing our societies? Who feels it's "patriotic" to be a part of the Russian misinformation machine?

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day. Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine. As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia. America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration. Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. ZELENSKYY: At this very moment, when we are talking about peace, America gives Russia the opportunity to export diesel — that's millions, billions. It all goes toward the war against people, against Ukraine, against all of us. I believe that our team is simply being used as a cover up, and this is definitely not fair, it is definitely not partnership-like, and in my view, it is a weak decision, unfortunately. Weak decision by strong partners.

So let's get this straight: Russia just murdered over 65 people in Ukraine in less than 48 hours. Crushed a building on top of sleeping families to celebrate Putin's birthday. And today, the U.S. announces that they are lifting sanctions on Russian diesel and planning to buy some, essentially becoming sponsors of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Just a day after a horrific terrorist attack by Russia that killed so many, and just before the winter when the Russian government screams from all the rooftops that they are going to create a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine by destroying our infrastructure. This is just such a low and cruel betrayal that it's hard to wrap my head around...
