I feel like after 11 years, I know trump's mind well enough, and I find it hard to believe he would be willing to lose the midterms and then also lose the Iran war to leave in shame after a lame duck period in which he is impeached a few dozen times on totally legit charges.
I have been totally surprised by Trump's willingness to chicken out after the point of no return and shamelessly lie and claim victory a few times in the current admin, like with the Mass Deportation confrontation in Minneapolis or Greenland or tariffs, etc. It is really hard to imagine him not trying to fight back and take back control of the narrative. Especially since the current mood is that Trump is a defeated orange pussy, just waiting to get fucked by the DNC.
Maybe he really doesn't give a fuck at all and just wants to finish his great heist and flee; maybe he is just tired and old, but I will be genuinely shocked if we aren't about to witness decisive devastation of Iran.
I mean, these aren't even going to be political impeachments. This admin is extremely corrupt and sloppy; he is a lame duck with no real support from the people anymore. Trump could genuinely get removed. There could be a dozen republican senators who are unwilling to toss their careers away on this toxic admin, especially after another year of this pathetic flailing and the investigations reveal just how bad the rot was.
I don’t know. The future looks bleak for Trump unless he does something drastic. I suppose he could make a terrible deal with Iran from a position of weakness, then claim at every public appearance that he won because Iran agreed to a new version of the JCPOA with his name on it. If Iran is even willing to let Trump escape from this bear trap he has been led into by all the "true" America First voices like Witcoff, Kushner, Levin. But is that not just too weak and pathetic? I don't think even those idiots still on Truth Social have a stomach for that dogshit anymore. It seems to me that doing nothing or focusing on the ballroom and the reflecting pool will certainly lead to Trump's least desirable outcome, and he has never been one to sit still in an unfavorable position.
Worrying about this shit is useless, of course; this is just a thought I've been having more and more. All we can do is continue moving toward the levers of power, getting better, smarter.
