How is it not medical malpractice for a SNF to discharge a patient on a holiday weekend without enough of a critical medication to make it through the weekend?

Not to mention a glaring example of all the reasons we need better #gerontology and palliative care. Even as a former healthcare worker I can’t understand this level of not-my-job-ism by everyone involved.

The SNF doctor, who so-far hasn’t been able to call back, and having a pharmacist call the neurologist, who then hung up on her. At this point the only consistent advice has been to go to the ER.
His neurologist whose critical contact number goes to a non-functioning voice mail. A virtual urgent care as recommended by primary care, who refused to refill seizure meds.

So far today I’ve tried the following options to refill my FIL anti-seizure meds: Primary Care who has no-one on call over the weekend
