The new home we donated to a family in Tshakhuma, Limpopo, features three bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Every room is fully furnished, and the house is fully tiled with ceilings, running water, and electricity.
To ensure long-term comfort and resilience, we also installed a solar power backup system and a water tank.
Congratulations to the family as they begin this new chapter and rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. ❤️🏡

Phende Phende Christmas for the Elderly is a special annual initiative by the Collen Mashawana Foundation, dedicated to supporting vulnerable elderly citizens and the families who depend on them.
As part of the programme, 50 of the most vulnerable families headed by elderly citizens are identified in each of more than 60 villages across the Vhembe District in Limpopo. These are families who might otherwise face Christmas without enough food or basic necessities.
Through food hampers and other essential support, the initiative helps these families enjoy the festive season with greater dignity, comfort and joy.
The main celebration takes place at Thohoyandou Stadium on 13 December 2026, bringing elderly citizens together for a day of care and celebration, including wheelchairs, medical assistance, grooming services, blankets and other forms of support. #phendephende #cmf #collenmashawanafoundation #christmas2026 #limpopo

Today has been a truly special and meaningful birthday. I had the privilege of spending the day with the children of New Jerusalem Children’s Home in Midrand, sharing lunch, laughter, music and moments that reminded me once again that the greatest way to celebrate life is by giving back.
I was deeply inspired by the work being done at the home and by the incredible young people I met. Through the Collen Mashawana Foundation, we made commitments to support three children with future university bursaries, assist the centre with a new drum set, and provide an employment opportunity to a young person who has completed their studies.
I also want to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to wish me a happy birthday today, through calls, messages, social media posts, prayers, gifts and other thoughtful gestures. I have been overwhelmed by the love and support from family, friends, colleagues, partners and people from across Africa and beyond.
I am deeply grateful. As I begin another year of life, I remain committed to using every opportunity I have to serve, give back and create opportunities for others.

3. Established in 2000, New Jerusalem provides a safe and nurturing home to approximately 120 vulnerable children. The professionally run centre is supported by teachers, nurses and caregivers, and provides schooling from Grade R to Grade 10, while also accommodating some learners from the surrounding community.
