When C.S. Lewis finished The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, he realized something heartbreaking: the little girl he had written it for had grown up...
Her name was Lucy Barfield: she was his goddaughter, the daughter of his close friend Owen Barfield, and she gave her name to the bravest child in Narnia, Lucy Pevensie.
In May 1949, Lewis sent her the finished manuscript with a letter, and when the book came out the following year, that letter was printed on its first page.
He told her he had written the story for her, but hadn’t realized that "girls grow quicker than books." By now, he admitted, "you are already too old for fairy tales." And then he made her a promise: "some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again."

At this point, I would prefer to be alone and just spend time with my kids

Valuable and perfectly made in the image of God.
An extra chromosome doesn’t determine someone’s humanity.
I just finished a journal and need to buy another one. Any ideas? I wonder if anyone will ever read my journal besides me. What will become of it? Who will decide to throw it away and when? It's so full of meaningful memories...

Babies diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted at extremely high rates around the world:
Iceland: ~100%
Denmark: ~98%
France: ~77%
United Kingdom: ~90%
United States: 67–85%
The discrimination against children with an extra chromosome must end.

A Canadian woman was approved for assisted suicide after losing her ability to cook.
The woman, in her 70s, was the matriarch of her family and had spent years preparing Sunday dinners for her loved ones.
When she lost the ability to cook, she began to feel that she no longer had value to her family and applied for state-assisted suicide.
She ultimately came to recognize that her worth was not determined by what she could do for her family, but by who she was.
She chose not to end her life.
Pray that more people recognize that their worth is not determined by what they can produce or contribute, but by their inherent dignity as human beings made in the image and likeness of God.

silicon valley is so obsessed with AI automating everything that they've completely lost touch with the point of life
just because you *can* use AI for something doesn't mean you *should*
otherwise you're robbing your soul of the most enjoyable things in life
> just because AI can generate a song in 10 seconds doesn't mean you shouldn't still learn to play piano
> just because AI can write doesn't mean you should use ChatGPT for your wedding vows or your mom's birthday card
> just because AI can plan every hour of your Japan trip doesn't mean you should skip getting lost in the back streets of Tokyo
> just because AI can translate the menu doesn't mean you shouldn't learn Italian for the pure joy of it
> just because AI can summarize a 400-page novel doesn't mean you shouldn't read it the way the author actually intended
i think the happiest people in the AI era will be the ones with the taste to know when not to use it
AI should cure cancer and do your taxes.
it should NOT be reading your kid a bedtime story
