As we sprint to Election Day, we're hosting town halls throughout the suburbs. Frustrated with both political parties? Considering maybe even not voting? There's a mainstream Independent you can vote FOR this election, and I'd love to meet you! Unlike the two major party candidates’ events, these town halls are open to the general public. And, unlike my opponents, I don’t need a favorable moderator or pre-screened questions. Carolyn and I will be taking questions directly from the audience and sharing our common sense plans to lower costs for working families and raise everyone’s wages. Join us at a location near you!

The long-term part is key. This campaign is just the beginning of a much larger and overdue movement. Join us!
A vote for me is more than just a vote for Governor. It's part of a long-term strategy to fix our broken politics. If the two major parties realize the threat posed by the Independent movement and come back to the mainstream, problem solved. If they don't, well, 1-2% of Americans leave the two-party system and become Independent every year. We'll continue to grow until the parties become obsolete. Either way, the middle finally gets represented. Candidates and politicians have to compete for our support again. And we bring common sense back to our politics and government. So send a message this election. Go vote Independent for Illinois Governor. You have until November 3rd.

I was on @MyStateline Friday, and the very first question: "Why should Illinois voters choose you over the two candidates with established party infrastructure and some governing experience?" Hear my answer to that plus common sense plans to lower costs for working families including property taxes, what I agree with Pritzker and Bailey on, how we get Illinois growing again to stop people from wanting to leave, ensuring the suburbs and downstate are represented in state government, how an Independent could govern, and why we need to fix DCFS.

Sane voices on left and right (e.g. @StuLoren) know that economic growth fixes numerous long-term problems but that IL and Chicago are producing less than needed, primarily due to broken politics. The potential is there, it is poor policy choices and perception that holds us back
Illinois isn't growing. Springfield doesn't care, and JB Pritzker only makes it look like he cares. Pritzker has some convinced that he's good on economic development because of his state-funded photo ops and ribbon cuttings, but those can't mask how his tax hikes and regulations are driving employers away. Illinois is 46th in GDP growth since Pritzker took office. Meanwhile, the message of economic growth isn't even heard in Springfield, because "if you're not at the table, you're on the menu." That's why so many business owners and leaders from throughout Illinois are supporting our campaign and helping us build an Independent majority. They're tired of being ignored...until it's time to balance the budget and Springfield wants more money. They're tired of having no voice...while we watch jobs and opportunity leave our state. It's time to restart our engine, make Illinois open for business, and get this state growing again. I discuss with my campaign chairman, @LouSandoval_10, on this week's Hope for Illinois podcast.

Pennsylvania is acting quickly to protect people's privacy, reigning in ALPR (i.e. Flock) misuse. Illinois? Crickets. JB Pritzker and Springfield have failed to put in place statewide guardrails for ALPR technology. If Illinois doesn't act soon to protect people's privacy, public opposition will grow so intense that this valuable law enforcement tool will be lost altogether. That's why we're pushing comprehensive privacy protections. With those in place, ALPR technology can continue to help find missing children during Amber Alerts, locate human trafficking victims, identify violent offenders, and recover stolen vehicles.

You have to REALLY care about improving Illinois to come out to talk politics on a Friday night. 🤣 Thanks to those who talked with us and others who came by to voice support and pick up signs. So many people are frustrated by our politics, but what I love: still hopeful for Illinois. – at Rockford, IL

In 2017, before JB Pritzker took office, Illinois had 5 of the top 10 manufacturing zip codes in the nation. It's 3 now. Whenever I ask an Illinois manufacturer what they wish state lawmakers would recognize, they always say: "that we compete in a global marketplace." Every time Springfield adds another cost or regulation, it makes it that much harder for them to compete. This holds back our economy, slows job growth, and suppresses wages. We have got to get our state growing again. We have a plan to do that, which is why I'm a recommended candidate for Governor by the Technology & Manufacturing Association @TMAInfo . – at Rockford, IL

If you're in or near Rockford, come out tonight to the next stop of our town hall tour. collinforil.com/townhalls/ If you don't come for me, come for the venue. This is one of the coolest places I've ever held an event! Let's talk about how we get Illinois moving in the right direction. We need to make life more affordable for working families and get our state growing again so we can raise everyone's wages. – at Cherry Valley, IL

Great to see. Those who have been fortunate have the duty to help others...
Helping those in need has always been important to Carolyn and me, because we care. As President of the McHenry County Mental Health Board, Carolyn recently accepted an award on the board's behalf for their work expanding access to behavioral health care, mental health care, and housing support in the county. Meanwhile, conversations over the last week have reminded me of work I've done helping build housing and provide support for children suffering from trauma, expand domestic violence shelters for women and children escaping abuse, and end source-of-income discrimination in Illinois so low-income families can have a place to call home. That same passion to help people is what's driving us in this race. And it's why we have no patience for political games, because real people need real help...and to them, it's not a game.

In the hospital and my grandpa won't let the doctors or nurses talk about him until he introduces them to his grandson, "the next Governor of Illinois." He's even joked that he won't pay his bill unless they promise to vote for me. 🤣 (He's ok. Gave us a little scare this morning, but he'll be out and home in a few days.)
