My 2026 @getoneword is ADAPT I’ve lived by “force of will,” making the world bend around me or break. I thought I had to, to survive & do hard things I want to be water, not stone. Flow around obstacles like a stream. Grow to fit environments, like a birch ADAPT #oneword

How to Move from a Fixed Mindset to Growth What is a mindset and why does it matter? Could your self-beliefs impact your success or failure? According to Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck, “your beliefs play a pivotal role in what you want and whether you achieve it. Dweck has found that it is your mindset that plays a significant role in determining achievement and success.” Mindset Mindset: A set of beliefs that shape how you make sense of the world and yourself. It influences how you think, feel, and behave in any given situation. According to Dweck, there are two mindsets: fixed and growth. Fixed mindset: Believe your abilities are fixed traits and therefore can’t be changed. You may also believe that your talent and intelligence alone leads to success, and effort is not required. Growth mindset: Believe that your talents and abilities can be developed over time through effort and persistence. People with this mindset don’t necessarily believe that everyone can become a genius just because they try. They do, however, believe that everyone can get smarter or more talented if they work at it. In the rest of the article, you'll see examples of beliefs that fixed mindset people have compared to growth mindset people. You can also answer a few questions and see whether YOUR mindset leans fixed or growth. There are tips at the end to help with moving from fixed to growth. finishstrongermindsetcoachin… #finishstrongermindsetcoaching #ultrarunning #runningmotivation #runtips #ultrarunner

One thing that will come to us all is death but one thing we don't all take advantage of is our Legacy. What mark will we leave on this world? I hope I can leave one as Michelle @TxSecurityGal did. One of hope, love, encouragement and faith that everyone can make an positive impact if we just believe! 🙏❤️‍🔥🔥 Michelle made this former bullied fat kid that couldn't even do one pushup believe he could take on a @ColonelRedmond in pushups! 😜💪🫡 Chest hurt, shoulders pain like a mother freaker but Lamp lit (pun intended) not in one set like the Colonel yet an endless fight until I got all 80! The endless heart and fight of a former Military Police Officer! Love you Michelle! 🫡🔥❤️‍🔥

I know 26 to 80 pushups to a Colonel don't look like anything special. But for a former fat kid that could never do a single one and someone coming back from shoulder surgery, I will take it. 🫡
Had to jump in on this push-up challenge. Knocked out 80. Appreciate the push from both @dustinthedad and @georgehayworth. Let’s keep it rolling.🫡👊

FBF: 10 years ago I ran the Berlin Marathon for the first time (I’ve run it twice). MFH and I were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary on this trip and the race was just the icing on the cake. In this race pic, you can see I’d run through the Brandenburg Gate and was on the last 2/10 when the nice German man steps in front of me (TV cameraman is off to the right in thepic) and-starts to interview me. While the clock was still ticking!!!😬 I’m in a moderate panic over my finish time but didn’t want to be rude so chatted with the guy. FINALLY he asks, is there anything special you’re celebrating while in Germany? That’s when I finally clued in ☺️ I said yes and mentioned our anniversary. He said, While you successfully complete the Berlin Marathon, this song’s for you…… Then they blasted the wedding march through the race speakers until i crossed the finish line!!! One of the most amazing moments of my life and I’ll never forget it 🩷

On September 11th, I was a 24 year old Platoon Leader in 1-14 CAV, 3/2 IBCT at Ft Lewis. We weren’t even a Stryker BDE yet because they hadn’t chosen the vehicle. The “I” stood for Interim. We had just finished stretching before PT when the 1SG told everyone to get in the day room. I walked in just in time to see the second plane hit. By mid morning, we were at the SRP site that overlooked a piece of I5. Traffic backed up as far as you could see because they closed the post down. I will never forget SFC Craig, our mortar PSG and a Gulf War vet saying “Everything just changed, gentlemen. Prepare yourselves.” Some real NCO truth, right there. By that night, we had been given live ammo and were guarding a few of the unmanned gates that were wide open. Did that for a few months until permanent structures were installed. Then it was train, train, train for 18 months until we went to Iraq. I will never forget 🇺🇸🫡 @RobManess @KurtSchlichter @the53rdregiment @PershingSoldier @CynicalPublius @DaleStarkA10 @WPerry1151 @stuartscheller @SecWar @GBNT1952 @ColonelMark4 @ColonelRedmond @usmc_colonel @JesseKellyDC @TheBuddyCSM @SeanParnellUSA
