Sergeant Mary Ricard was killed when she was attacked by an offender at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility in Crowley, Colorado. In August 2019, the offender, who was serving a 35-year-to-life sentence, was resentenced to life and 48 years. Sergeant Ricard served with the Colorado Department of Corrections for nine years. She is survived by her husband and four children. In June 2019, Colorado State Highway 207 was renamed Sgt. Mary Ricard Memorial Highway in her honor. At the Colorado Department of Corrections, we are more than colleagues; we are a family. We honor Sergeant Mary Ricard. We will never forget her service to the people of Colorado
