To put an end once and for all to the malicious speculation coming from people seeking to stir up trouble and draw attention to themselves, including Vatican officials, here are the letters exchanged between the organisers of the Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage and the Secretariat of State in their efforts to organise the 2026 pilgrimage.
This was the request made directly to Pope Leo, through a letter written by Father Claude Barte, in December 2025:
“For fifteen years, our Pilgrimage has brought to Rome, to the Tomb of the Apostle and to his Successor, pilgrims representing all the priests and faithful throughout the world who are attached to the traditional liturgy. Every year, with the exception of 2023 and 2024, we have been granted the grace of celebrating the traditional Holy Mass in St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. In 2025, with Your Holiness’s permission, we were able to resume this pious custom. I therefore turn once again to Your Holiness to ask you graciously to renew, with paternal care, the authorisation granted last year and those previously granted by Pope Francis.”
With no answer received, after 6 months, the request was renewed on June 12th, to the Secretariat to State.
On August 7th, came the Secretariat of State’s reply:
From the Vatican, 7 August 2026
No. 55.786
Reverend Father, In your letter of 12 June, you submitted a request to celebrate a Mass in St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, according to the usus antiquior, during the international pilgrimage Ad Petri Sedem. We regret to inform you that, for this year, we cannot grant your request. Please accept, Reverend Father, the assurance of my devoted esteem.

Next came Father Barthe’s request that, despite being unable to celebrate Mass there, the pilgrims might be allowed to enter and pray in St Peter’s Basilica:
8 September 2026
His Most Reverend Excellency Archbishop Paolo Rudelli
Substitute for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State
Your Most Reverend Excellency, I have received your letter of 7 August informing me that, for this year, our international pilgrimage Ad Petri Sedem had not been granted permission to celebrate a Mass according to the usus antiquior in St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican on 24 October.
Might we nevertheless, on that same 24 October, enter the Basilica in procession, pray for the Pope at the Altar of the Confession, and adore the Blessed Sacrament at the Altar of the Chair? The Basilica’s Sacristy informs us that this would be possible at 1:00 p.m., should you grant us permission. I ask Your Most Reverend Excellency to accept this expression of my profound respect.
Finally, the Secretariat of State’s refusal of that request:
From the Vatican, 30 September 2026
No. 58.510
Reverend Father, In reply to your letter of 8 September concerning the international pilgrimage Ad Petri Sedem, I inform you that it is not possible to grant your request. Please accept, Reverend Father, the expression of my prayerful and devoted sentiments.
Paolo Rudelli

This proves that everything the organisers have said all along is the unvarnished truth. It also proves that there was no negligence whatsoever in the organisation of the pilgrimage, but rather care and respect in the way dealings with the Holy See were conducted.
The refusal to allow Mass, and also the pilgrim's prayer, in St Peter’s, was solely the responsibility of the Holy See, which gave no explanation for its decisions. Nevertheless, to anyone paying even a little attention, those reasons seem clear.

Ancient Roman priests would have interpreted Mussolini’s goal as a mystical sign from Jupiter. This wasn’t just a deflected shot hitting the back of the net it was a cosmic alignment signaling the birth of a Second Roman Empire

Trads are accused by advocates of the rite of Paul VI of making an idol out of the TLM. But it's plainly the opposite.
Trads are the ones who point out the liturgy can be meaningfully devotionally enriched by rubrics – chant, orations, preceding and succeeding prayers.
The argument from advocates of the Novus Ordo suggests it's mystically infallible. Annibale Bugnini and his pencil pushers in the 1960s, we are to believe, co-authored this sacred formula with angels, in perfect alignment with the will of God, and it is the most optimal way of worshipping possible. You are a heretic or schismatic for even thinking anything could or should be done in a manner otherwise than as they prescribed.
I’ve heard some things from bishops over the years. But “it is not appropriate to add a prayer to the most perfect prayer, which is the Mass,” is an absolute new one for me.

This man is on the so-called ‘right’.
Remember what I said the other day about Melonchon?

Reminder – a not insignificant part of the reason Europe fractured into Wars of Religion in the 16th century was that one side said:
"Maybe we should stay true to and keep unbreakable, lifetime vows. Actually."
Five centuries later, can we acknowledge they were right?
The manosphere is big mad over something one of their minions claims I said on CHD. But their ragebait quote isn’t something I said. Nor did Alex. You’re really telling on yourselves and how much you hate a woman with agency. Y’all? You are allowed to outgrow your life. You are allowed to be unhappy and make a change. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO GET WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU WANTED AND REALIZE YOU DON’T. Adjust accordingly. You are a human being, not a checklist. A whole movement of trolls that want you submissive and small and miserable? Those people don’t care about you, they just want you to fall in line. If they want to chatter so incessantly about someone they claim you should never listen to anyway? It’s because they’re afraid of the point. Seems they’re up in arms that the truth could illuminate something for you that they don’t like. It’s such embarrassing beta behavior, yikes. But keep driving views to the pod, I guess. Book comes out Tuesday lol
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Clips and the CHD episode transcript show Alex Cooper saying women ask “can I even get better?” re leaving marriage and “the answer is always yes,” with Sophia Bush affirming it and calling “too late/too old” ideas “patriarchy.”

Consider that Germany's population was some 40% larger than Britain's in 2000. Since then, we had Merkel literally open the floodgates to millions of refugees wanting to come to Germany. And yet still we have taken more in absolute terms and far more in per capita terms. In fact, we took 12% of our 2000 population over less than a quarter of a century. This is not a recipe for social stability, let alone cohesion.
🌍 European countries that added the most migrants (2000–2024)

Mostly peaceful AK47’s of course
BREAKING:
French police have encountered rioters and looters armed with AK47s and Scorpion submachine guns on the streets of Paris, Marseille and Lyon.
The information comes from the Le Journal du Dimanche journalist Laura Tchekov, who says that her newspaper has received this information from sources within the DGSI, France’s main internal security agency.
The weapons were carried by minors and young adults described as being part of organized crime groups but sometimes also close to the Islamist movement in France.
The journalist says that not all armed
rioters were arrested and that several of them remain on free foot.
It’s believed that police officers refrained from making arrests as they thought they could be both outmanned and outgunned at the moment and that hundreds of people were on the streets, creating a risk of a shoot-out that could have resulted in a large number of wounded and dead.
