For the past couple of weeks, much has been said about this Herd team, its staff, and even its leadership. Tonight, the entire athletic department shut up every naysayer. A very solid crowd for a Tuesday night game. The student section was fantastic, and the “House Party” was jumping from the start. Shoutout to @GJHJ and his entire team for promoting this game and helping fill the stadium! @CoachTonyGibson had this team prepared. What a DIFFERENCE we saw on defense! This is a very good USA offense, and all night, our defense had an answer. The offense looked shaky at times, but when you consider all the outside factors and the drama this team had to overcome from last week’s Coastal game, removing Carlos as a captain, and all sorts of outside noise to tonight, what a Difference we saw. All night, this team played hard. They played tough. There is absolutely no question about the effort we saw on that field. This is Marshall football. Respect to our players. Respect to our coaches. Respect to our entire athletic department. Two more wins gets us to a bowl game. It won’t be easy, but tonight proved this team can compete with anyone in the SBC. Let’s rest up during this long week and get ready for ODU. GO HERD!
