I'm just a blue-collar guy trying to shine a light on my little corner of the HVACR industry.
I've spent the last 20 years working in commercial kitchen equipment repair. Ovens, fryers, refrigeration, ice machines, dishmachines, combi ovens, steamers, and just about anything else that keeps a commercial kitchen running.
I'm a technician first. Always have been.
Along the way, I've been fortunate enough to become a CFESA Master Technician, an instructor, and an award-winning technician. But some of the most rewarding things I've done in this industry have nothing to do with awards or certifications.
They've come from helping another technician figure something out, watching someone develop their skills, or encouraging somebody to take a chance on a career in the skilled trades.
A few years ago, I started sharing my everyday work on social media. What began as simply documenting service calls turned into something much bigger.
Today, I create repair content, share lessons learned in the field, and host Commercial Kitchen Chronicles, a podcast dedicated to the people, stories, and experiences that make our industry what it is.
I'm constantly learning, whether that's becoming a better technician, instructor, podcaster, or content creator. I spend a ridiculous amount of time studying photography, filming, editing, storytelling, and what other creators are doing.
Not because I think I've figured everything out, but because I know I haven't.
If you see me following you, commenting, asking questions, or interacting with your content, it's because I'm genuinely interested in what you're doing. I'm learning from you, just like I hope someone might learn something from me.
My goal is pretty simple.
Share what I know. Learn what I don't. Help others along the way. And hopefully leave this industry a little better than I found it.
If you're in HVACR, commercial refrigeration, foodservice equipment repair, or any of the skilled trades, I'd love to connect.
And to everyone out there teaching, creating, documenting their journey, or helping the next generation find their way...
Keep that shit up. 👊

Day one was rough.
As soon as my company issued MacBook got on the network I locked me out. IT has no fix, so I now have no device. The show must go on though.
My biggest takeaway away is I gotta have my stuff backed up and accessible – at Forrester, GA

What a time for my MacBook to die.
Out of town training and all my training material is on it.
Gotta record show from hotel room and now have no way to do that.
Oh well, time to adapt, overcome, and persevere.

🔥 3 BRAZING KITS. 1 SOLUTION. 🔥
Why carry three different brazing setups when you can have the versatility of all three in one?
That's what caught my attention about the Ambro Controls OxyMax Kit!
Whether you're working on commercial refrigeration, HVAC/R systems, walk-in coolers, ice machines, or other restaurant equipment, having the right brazing setup matters.
But so does space on your service truck!
The OxyMax offers the flexibility of multiple tank configurations in one compact, portable setup. Add in convenient hose storage, and you've got a kit designed with field service in mind.
After nearly 20 years repairing commercial kitchen equipment, I've learned that versatility and efficiency are just as important as performance.
Why carry more equipment than you need?
🔥 NOW I WANT TO HEAR FROM THE TECHS!
Are you running multiple brazing setups, or have you found one kit that handles everything you need?

So I go to teach and I am locked out of my MacBook
Its a company managed device that is only on a company network unless I am teaching. I fire it up and wont connect.
I guess I should put it on the company network every once in a while.... – at Stocks, GA

Good Company is LIVE! ☕🤝
We teamed up with @Goodysharvestco on a coffee we're really proud of. Good Company is a smooth medium-dark roast, sourced, roasted and shared the way good coffee should be.
It's out now in whole bean or ground, in 12 oz and 16 oz bags, and you can grab it on both sites: selfrezcoffee.com and Goody's store.
Use code GOODYS for 10% off!

At what point does you give up on expecting a product to ship and ask for a refund?
Yes I placed the order knowing that part of it was on backorder for 4 weeks. Its now been 3 months. Plus they gave me tracking 4 weeks ago and its never been picked up.
