I want community organizing to be something that we practice everyday. For our families, the youth, our neighbors.
Minneapolis has always been this racist. This mayoral race really illuminated it even more. Progress has always been halted by the milquetoast “not yet” majority.

I want to know how the mayor of Minneapolis will address the bigotry and unabashed racism, xenophobia, and islamohobia of his supporters.

Minneapolis needs to take a housing first approach to homelessness. Without a well-resourced, compassionate, and resident-focused approach, the conditions for violence in encampments will continue to exist. Tragedies like the one last night are completely avoidable.

I can’t emphasize enough how wearing a respirator mask during a global pandemic is an act of defiance. By wearing one, you’re directly going against what the government wants, which is sickness and disability. It’s a powerful act and it makes a difference. Masking is resistance!

As seen in this video, Jacob Frey and Donald Trump treat unhoused people exactly the same. There’s something uniquely devastating about watching people with nowhere to go, in the wealthiest country in the history of the world, be treated like literal garbage just for existing.

WATCH: "He said he didn’t wanna see tents on his streets — yeah, that pissed me off," Willy, resident of a homeless encampment in Washington DC, addressed Trump, after being told the site could be cleared as soon as tomorrow.
Residents expressed frustration over the decision, while the head of the Department of Human Services outlined the removal process.
Willy, who spoke with me on camera, said he was offered storage for his belongings — something he believes will help in his search for a new place to live.

We encourage people to donate to the first campaign that comes up on the site because it will be a campaign that desperately needs your help.

Masks are under serious threat at being banned widely due to politicization. This would be a public health disaster. If you’re only wearing a mask at protests, please consider wearing them elsewhere. The more people mask, the more we normalize masks and protect them against bans.

“Removing encampments does not magically house these people; it just scatters them, leaving them alone and vulnerable and making it more difficult for outreach workers to find them.” - Abby Guetter
Star Tribune readers see through Mayor Frey’s lies about homelessness.
