I am seeking 1-2 PhD students and 1-2 postdocs to work on theory in HCI, say, how the field uses theory, how to make theories more impactful in HCI, and how to develop better technology w theory. DL is June 9th, see shorturl.at/4FTkQ and shorturl.at/6DlA5. 🙏 🇩🇰🎓😃

Inspiring work @ACM_ISS by @ville_paananen_ on human-scale spatial experience; after all, human bodies are inherently spatial 👏. A great start for generating knowledge related to the expression of spatial experience + safety in relation to space.
Boom, Ville making first waves in the intersection of architecture and HCI.
The article dives into what subjective constituents people consider when mentally quantifying a human scale space, e.g. a room or a corridor.

GenZ - research on human-centric digital futures: @pHaddington @noorahir and @SimoHosio presented #GenZ_Oulu research e.g., on #AI literacy, #crowdsourcing and social #VR at #ICT research breakfast today @UniOulu @ITEEOulu @info_tutkimus @SuomenAkatemia
We are happy & proud for @Duesynapse successfully defending his doctoral thesis yesterday 🥂 @imjuhokim did an exceptionally good job in critically examining the thesis and giving valuable input for future research directions.
Thanks also to @GenZ_Oulu & @ubicomp_oulu !
If you have experience in #crowdsourcing as a requester, please help us out by taking this short (pinky promise) questionnaire online!

That would be @cis_unimelb
Nonetheless, DM for details and if you happen to know an organization that could help us promote the study.
Our collaboration with @ubicomp_oulu @CompSciAAU @PittTweet @GlasgowCS @ulisboa_ @cis_unimelba on #crowdsourcing for #Parkinsons disease --> stage 2: helping people discover new self-care techniques.

How should one share #opendata in a way that allows running a sustainable collection procedure? I think this is a great question to ask. Who should this question be even addressed to, I am not quite sure #PlatformsEcosystems
Would love to hear thoughts from #opendata folks on how an activist data project should balance how much free data to provide vs holding back data for a fee to help sustain the project. FYI lots of downloads are bulk ($!) and unrelated to the mission and audience for the project.
Our very own Ville on a quest to figure out what are human scale spaces made of and how to build better situated technologies in them.
PS. What's your favourite space in the world?
