This painting of the biblical King David playing the harp comes from a 15th-century Ethiopian manuscript. Scribes used the back of the parchment to practise calligraphy, leaving rows of writing alongside sketches of faces.

Habibi send your own kind or you come to do it by yourself!
Egyptian politicians never cease to amuse me. 😅 They seem to think we don't see that third eye of hypocrisy!
It's easy to preach cooperation, fairness and shared responsibility. The real test is whether your actions reflect your words.

Two WATER-WEEK celebrations in the Nile Basin, one in Cairo and the other in Addis Ababa, during this last week of October 2026. Cairo broods over "water security" with downstram control; while Addis Ababa emphasizes on cooperation for sustainable ecosystem development, promoting green legacy, protection and conservation of shared water resources.
One from the headwaters 🇪🇹, the other from downstream 🇪🇬 seeking to dictate one-sided terms to the source.
Ethiopia champions equitable utilisation, cooperation, and sustainable development. Water security cannot mean a monopoly for downstream states at the expense of

Russia’s offer to mediate between Ethiopia and Eritrea Red Sea access saga presents Isaias with a defining moment and three possible scenarios: 1) Squander his last chance, deepen his isolation, and accelerate his regime’s decline. 2) Accept reality, engage in serious dialogue, and choose peaceful coexistence. 3) Evade Moscow’s mediation to buy time and prolong the status quo. The choice is his, but time is running out. Ethiopia is ready for any of these eventualities. The question is, will Isaias choose pragmatism, or repeat the mistakes that could seal his regime’s fate? Time will tell.

🚨 MORE TPLF CONSCRIPTED TIGRAYAN YOUTHS FALL VICTIM TO SUDAN'S WAR — RSF RELEASES DISTURBING FOOTAGE
The RSF has released further footage showing what are reported to be TPLF conscripted Tigrayan youths. This time, however, the outcome is far more tragic.
Unlike the previous captives who survived with their lives intact, these young men and women appear to have met the cruellest fate of war. The images are so gruesome that we have had to blur portions of them.
These were youths barely old enough to have graduated from senior high school, sons and daughters whose families depended upon them, with their entire futures still ahead of them.
Somewhere in Tigray, a mother will never see her child again. She will never attend their graduation, celebrate their wedding or witness them raising a family of their own. All the hopes and dreams she once held for her child have been extinguished.
Their lives have been tragically cut short in a foreign war in which they had no business fighting.
And at the centre of this tragedy are deeply troubling allegations concerning Isaias Afwerki and al-Burhan, one accused of facilitating the transfer of Tigrayan youths, the other of purchasing their services to replenish his military ranks at a mere $250 for every conscript.
While powerful men pursue their wars and ambitions, it is the mothers of Tigray who are left to bury their children.

Eritrea has violated Ethiopia's sovereignty. In addition, Eritrea is sponsoring terrorism and separatist movements in Ethiopia. Instead of panicking about Ethiopia's inevitable and legal response; it would have been better for Eritrea to respect international borders and law.
The Potemkin Party continues to double down on its campaign of war and unremitting hostility against Eritrea by dwelling on revisionist historical narratives and the deplorable denigration of Eritrea's legitimate, decades-old, process of decolonization achieved through unparalleled and precious sacrifices.
In this vein, one of PP's official mouthpieces - Fana Broadcasting Corporation - disparages, on its X account today, Eritrea's overall development policy and what it dubs as "stagnation of Assab".
Furthermore, it laments the loss of "Ethiopia's Red Sea coastline", due, in its warped mind, "to conspiracy of external adversaries".
These pitiful diatribes are symptomatic of the incurable war psychosis that has gripped the Potemkin Party for years now.
Indeed, it is obvious that the PP will require massive reconfiguration in its mindset/soft-ware for reason and sanity to prevail.
As it is, the antidote for its multi-layered malaise does not lie in the propagation of revisionist history; and/or in the flagrant violation of foundational pillars and principles of international law.
The fact is:
1. A regime that is presiding over an ailing economy where 68.7% of the population are classified as "multidimensionally poor" (WB terminology) in spite of massive international assistance; and,
2. That is seething under interminable internal costly conflicts of its own making;
is not in a position to pontificate to its neighbours about astute development policy or the fostering of good-neighborly ties anchored on mutual respect of each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
